If Golems play a part in Dragon Age 3 Inquisition would you be against some of them having weapons?

I know a Golem is a weapon by themselves. If I'm not mistaken I think there were armed Golems in one of the Dragon Ages. I can't remember because it was solong since I last played the game.

What's kind of weapon would you want a Golem to carry? I would love to see a Golem carry...

-a Tree or use one
-a pole or pillar

Hmm, I'd see them with something like executioner styled axes, or giant broadswords wielded with one hand...

They'd have a pretty unfair advantage in range if they had spears, which is no bad thing in a companion but would suck if you fought against them. Any weapon would have to be enormous if those rock fingers are going to be able to hold it, though.

They're golems! They ARE weapons!

Golems can already use boulders as ranged weapons. It's one of their skills. I suppose they could rip up a tree or something, or toss dwarfs. *shrug*

Hammers with frost enchantments.
Why frost? because I like to see enemies or companions shatter.

It sort of seems superfluous when you're a huge super strong stone statue, but sure.

Yeah, this.

I mean, sure, I guess, but . . . man. That's some overkill, there.

I actually prefer it if you use them as a tank that they have a mode where they don't get knocked down like regualr warriors. I hated using Shale as a tank for this very reason.

Since I'm in Hawaii, I hope my golems dual-wield tiki torches and wear leis.

I don't have a problem with this. I wouldn't mind seeing other kinds of golems.

Golems don't need weapons. Golems ARE weapons.

I agree. I would love a variety of Golems.

This would be a strong contender for "most useless feature requested on BSN" if a contest like that existed. I think the concept was swiped from DotA.

The level of grumpitude suggests that some posters really do need hugs. Or possibly Flowers of Happiness.

This made me think of a golem wearing a "Free Hugs" T-shirt.

Now I see why the producers/developers complain about the forums on Twitter and Tumblr. They don't complain about people suggestions or wants. They complain about the posters who are rude and the ones who take the energy out of every post.

I would definitely not be against golems wielding weapons, or having more sophisticated weapons than just fists "built in."

I think a little overkill is warranted if you consider the dwarves' situation...

I think the best argument against the idea would be more about their fists already being better than any weapon they could wield, since they're so bulky they might not have the dexterity needed to wield a weapon effectively. Certainly it would be weird to see a golem making deft cuts with a katana. Still, there are plenty of weapons suited for big, brutish types to make them even bigger and more brutish.

Weapons, no. Big red boxing gloves, yes and yes.

I don't really have a problem with it; I just figured that chucking giant boulders and pounding every enemy in sight into a viscous material sounded like it was weapon enough.

Not against weapons for golems; just thought it wasn't really needed.

My opinion, though.

It would make them more challenging opponents, I guess. Not that they need to be.
