I was wondering if  DA3 is going to have a weapon crafing system like Dead Space 3, where you in case you lack the resources to make a certain weapon, you have buy them online with your MS points.

Note: EA have announced that all their future games will include microtransactions

You never had to buy any of the materials. By the end of my first game I had 3 very different and fully upgraded weapons along with my rig that was mostly upgraded (what wasn't upgraded I didn't feel like investing mats into) and even that was totally upgraded by the end.

Not to mention all that carries over into the New Game+ so if its handled the same way in DA3 as it was in Deadspace 3 then I would have no issues at all.

It was nothing more then if in DAO you could buy some elfroot or other mats instead of looking around or paying gold in game for it.

I honestly kinda hope not. I'm OCD about crafting in MMO's and am afraid I'd let Thedas fall to ashes while I tried to make that special something in DAI. In other words, for me, it would probably be too much of a distraction.

i really love crafting, i spent many hours on wow doing it and spent alot longer doing it in skyrim, i really like the smithing in skyrim tbh keeps me happy for ages, but saying all that i dont think DA has a place for crafting systems like these, hopefully im proved wrong but with what i played in DAO an DA2 i cant think of crafting like that being worth it in them 2 games anyhow

I think that can buy them online is a bit better wording than have buy them online (sic).

Still, I doubt that they'll have that kind of weaponcrafting. There'll probably be the same ol DLC weapon packs again.

Or you can not make that gun. They don't kick down your door and beat you up if you don't do it. Still, this is a bit too freemium for my tastes.

Who's your insider source in Bioware/EA? Nothing about crafting (like it's present in DS3) has been confirmed for DA3. The fact that all the EA games will have MT doesn't mean that DA3 will have weapon crafting as DS3. They could follow the ME3 MP route with the MT in MP.

I hope not. I like finding my epic weapons down the bottom of some hard fought cave. If crafting weapons is in it will have to be something similar to making Vigilance, where it was actually an effort and worthwhile to achieve.

Making bog-standard bow that worse then all your other equipment to sell for 5 silver isn't really appealing to me.

I certainly hope not. From what I hear the crafting system in dead space 3 is utterly useless if you don't buy the mats using microtransactions. They screwed up enough with DA2, we don't need them to divert even more resources to a useless crafting system that's only usable with microtransactions. I will NEVER use them either as I will not support these despicable business practices.

Or you can not make that gun. They don't kick down your door and beat you up if you don't do it. Still, this is a bit too freemium for my tastes.

Whether or not you have a choice is irrelevant. And with the way this industry is heading, you will not have a choice soon anyway. If I sell you a TV for twice the normal price, you do not have to buy it from me, but that would still make me a greedy SOB.

No, it is not. It makes all the difference in the world. If that is irrelevant, then any DLC weapon that is an exclusive or part of a DLC or any DLC for that matter is the same thing. Just look at all the weapon packs and alternate appearance packs for ME2 and 3 as well as DAO and DA 2.

As long as they don't wave a sign saying "BUY OUR CRAP" while playing the game and the game economy is decently balanced, I don't really care. Let people do what they want.

It does work well in the Sims 3. If a game is popular, there will always be people wanting to buy more stuff for it. The problem comes in if the game is really not that popular.

I don't know. I loved DAO, but I quit buying DLC after Feastday because I felt ripped off by RtO and Awakening, and Feastday put me over the edge. So if people are feeling they're getting good value for their $$, it will do well, but if not, they'll be mad and perhaps will not buy things that they otherwise would have. For instance, I didn't buy DLC for DA2 either (though I was gifted a MotA) solely because of my experience with DAO DLC.
