2. That awful ship that's falling into a chasm as you explore it. That's damn creepy.
3. Samara (or Jack) holding the bubble. For either, it's meaningful and an expression of determination.

Mass Effect 3:

1. Shepard standing up in melted armor at the beam run. That punched me in the gut. I'd just carried that Shepard through a ME marathon, from 1 to 2 into 3 as it came out. She was a favorite, determined character. And seeing her fighting to hold a pistol straight broke my heart in a good way.
2. Seeing the Palaven space battle.
3. Meeting Tali again.

Mass Effect 1.

1. I Remember Me - the best quest in the game and a preview of the emotion that the series would show.
2. Vigil - an example on how a Deus Ex Machina can be pulled of proprely.
3. Bring Down The Sky - one of the best paragon vs renegade choices in the game. Too bad ME1 and ME2 couldn't be as consistant with Renegade. Looking back, this felt like ME3. Morally grey, no light and dark...a tough choice.

Mass Effect 2
1. David - Overlord DLC is the bar Bioware should strive for when it comes to DLC, hasn't reached it since. Heavy System Shock influence here and an emotional finale.
2. Tali's Grief - the best loyalty mission....great character development for Tali after the talking codex she was in ME1.
3. The Suicide Mission - a great dirty dozen end to ME2

Mass Effect 3
1. The Ending (Extended) - Unlike the vocal minority, I like the ending. The EC was a great conclusion that wrapped up ME3 well thematically. So they screwed up the ending the first time, so what, so did The Witcher 2.
2. Tali's Suicide/Betrayal of Mordin - two of the saddest and most bitter scenes in gaming history. Bioware has come a long way in how it deals with characters an dboy can they pull it off.
3. Uncovering the evil of Sanctuary - the darkest moment in the entire trilogy.

* Killing the reaper on foot (was screaming the whole way through, my family thought i was in trouble since a woman screaming like that normally indicates trouble)
* Leviathan dlc (meeting the Leviathan species)
* running and dodging the reaper blasts when curing the genophage

That last one may seem odd, but that was the first time I saw that the crewmembers are more than isolated conversation dispensers and would actually react to the events around them this time. All the other great moments stemmed from there.

-When you realize Sovereign isn't a ship, it's a Reaper.
-The decision between leaving Ashley or Kaidan to die.
-If you didn't have Wrex's loyalty and are forced to kill him.


For Mass Effect 2:

-Anytime a squad member died in the final mission. (And also, sliding off the platform at the end)
-Tali's story. "I never thought you'd see behind... 'this'."
-Talking down Garrus from killing Sidonis.


From Mass Effect 3:

-Nearly going fisticuffs with the Reaper on Rannoch.
-Kai Leng and how good it felt to Renegade him. (The Fall of Thessia hurt.)
-Saying goodbye to all my squadmates. (especially Tali, Liara, and Garrus)

Honorable Mention:
Talking to EDI about the prisoners on Earth.
