A friend informed me that multiplayer had gotten an update.

So I looked to see what the new characters were and one that drew my attention most was the Awakened Collector.

I'm a bigtime fan of the Collectors and would very much like to play as one!

But it's listed as Very Rare, which I assumes means, "win the lottery struck by lightning in one day" chances.


Now, my mmo pulls this scam all the time, they get you to spend a lot of money chasing an incredibly low drop rare item, then adds a new rare item to chase a few months later.
And by you, I mean the idiots dumb enough to spend hundreds of dollars every time trying to get this item.
I'm not that foolish.


So, you can understand why, if the same rules apply here, I'm not going to spend any money chasing a character I have a snowball's chance in a furnace of obtaining.


So, as a rough estimate, assuming you buy only Reserve packs, how many would you have to buy to get an Awakened Collector?

I think I got my first one after about 500k credits, all PSPs. And we all know the UR Volus weren't hard to get.

This, the UR chrs. seem FAR easier to get than the UR weapons

depends on how unlocked your account is.

If you already have every single rare/ultra rare weapon and character maxed out before the expansion, you can get it pretty fast. The "ultra rare" characters drop a lot more frequently than the "ultra rare" guns.

I spent about 4 mil in credits I had saved, still had a lot of unlocks missing, and I got all of the new characters. rng is rng so ymmv.

In the end it's RNG. He's cool as hell though, soft, but cool. He's curiously slow cooldown wise for an adept but his abilities are wickedly powerful.

I got him.... idk, I think the 7th pack I bought? It still felt lucky though, since I still had (/have) a lot to unlock.

They're probably in the same "UR but not really" category that the first Volus were in. I did the uninstall trick to maximize my chances of getting Reckoning characters, and from 1.5 million credits I unlocked the Collector twice. That 1.5mill also neglected to give me the Talon and the Warlord, so...

Got him in a SP.

He's an UR card but Gold rarity on % chance to get.

I would say they are harder to get than the Volus were though. I had my Volus maxed out in under a million each, with only half of the other DLC content unlocked. The AC took 7.3 million to unlock all for options, with everything else but UR weapons unlocked. I would up unlocking 2 UR weapons for every one AC unlock. The RNG gods may have just hated me, but that's an average of somewhere between 1.5 and 2 million credits to unlock, provided you have every non-UR unlocked. Not to discourage you, it's definitely a reachable goal, it just depends how kindly (or not) in RNG gods are to you that day.

I maxed out his appearances before I maxed out the Krogan Warlord so' I don't think it that low.

I have it. I love the character BUT, he has incredibly slow recharge time and the worst or strangest thing is, if you use sphere or channel you can not use any power for a time. It makes me puzzled why these powers have faster recharge times as a spec rank if it essentially has no effect? How would it work if all powers are connected. That is his main draw back. I wish they would either disconnect his power recharge or slightly increase the recharge time.

If you remove all dlc aside from this one then your chances do go up a bit. I got him in my 4th pack I bought,

Got a Jug in my free pack and then got the collector in the first reserve pack. I had saved around 2 million and also got a spitfire, suppressor and the claymore (finally!). A very good day at the RNG shop. My manifest is far from complete. Random is random.

I maxed out the collector kit before even getting one in cabal vanguard.
UR status in character kits never meant much.

i've been buying regular spectre packs. got two collector cards without a maxed manifest. he's a pleasant surprise, kinda like a tactical fury.

I got him quite early in the initial 1 million credits I spent.

I was pretty lucky, I guess. I had 500k credits saved up but got him in the first or second reserves pack I opened.

The only other new character I've gotten was the Geth Juggernaut. Came in my gift pack.. I about did a spit-take, 'cause that was specifically the thing I wanted most.

(Now if only so many matches weren't so over-saturation with juggernauts that I feel bad using him..)

Got mine in my third pack (excluding the Gift Pack). Buy Reserves Packs, I think they help (Collector is a character, UR characters aren't really UR... you get the idea).

 I don't know about chances but it was the first reckoning character I unlocked.  Now only if I could get the Geth Juggernaut.

I've gotten three Collector cards, yet still no Juggernaut.
