Well, on the eve of Shepards last adventure, the use of a dead language seems appropriate to me.

I guess Shepard's LI is in denial, but later decides to hold onto that hope for high EMS destroy because Shep has a higher chance of survival in what they've heard over the radio. Either that or they have some kind of spiritual connection and can "sense" that Shep's alive. I'm guessing in both cases Shepard's assumed dead and not discovered yet.

What part of "the lead designer said he lives" are people not understanding
The part that appears on the screen.
Whatever anyone may say, Sheparrd does not get up, is not shown being rescued. Words in a PM, can't really overcome the emotional weight of that scene.

Because images have a greater power than words alone.

I've got to go with this. That pretty much ends the discussion. If they say he lives, he lives. They did write the story, after all.crimzontearz wrote...

Yes, it's a horrible cop-out ending.
But why else would they have put it there.
"hey guys, let's show Shepard die in the rubble after he exploded and everyone assumed he was dead!"
Doesn't make sense any other way.
The real question is asking BioWare WHY they let their beloved hero lay in the rubble. Great end to Shepard's story guys, thanks!
As I said in another thread, at least Synthesis and Control have closure for Shep.

Yup
And it's that oversight (twice!) that makes me question if bioware has the pulse of the fandom anymore, if they still have that narrative magic that made them what they are..

Flat out giving a rescue scene would tip the scale even more and we would not hurt the pride of the artist now would we?

Yeah. If they say Shepard lives then he lives. It's pretty simple
But still I must ask "But how???"

Cerberus-tech? Hell, if I'm to believe Shep can become some A.I. god or his/her essense is the magic ingredient in combinding organic-synthetic life...I guess surviving ground zero nuclear detonations are plausible too;)
