I've been wondering. I've heard on twitter, guys boasting of playing this game 200+ hours. How is that even possible? Even completing more of the sidequests than I already have, I could probably top it off at MAYBE 60 hours of this game with my character.
It depends on how quickly you read (if you're reading the codex), how long you take to debate which answer you're going to give in dialog, how long you take to reorganize your characteres, how much dialog you skip, etc.
My first play through was around 70 hours, without skipping any dialog, but without reading most of the codex entries. Subsequent play throughs, I've skipped more dialog. Was about 50 hours on my second time through, and about 40 on my third (though I'm not quite done yet).
And also, when I look up my character stats, it says I've explored like 90% of the world, but have completed lik 50% of the game. WTF? I've ENDED the game, how much MORE game could I possibly play?
It's across all characters, and I think it's calculated based off your achievements (at least, it appears to be based off this based on the achievements I have unlocked on the PC version). It's basically just Achievements Unlocked / Total Achievements expressed as a percentage.
I might replay it as a different character and class someday when it's slow, but I've never understood the appeal of going back and REDOING all those dungeons, fights and etc. I'm sure the game is a LITTLE bit different, but is it really honestly different enough to feel like a whole new game?
Second time, for sure. Each major quest has at least two outcomes. The main plot has four. A bunch of minor quests also change the ending slightly. You can also pick a more good/evil/selfish way to answer in most dialog trees. And there are three different classes to play. There's plenty of variation to play at least two or three times.
