As the topic tile states. My logical guess would be Alistair, provided you make him King of Ferelden. If the third game does involve the fate of the nations of Thedas within it's plot, I'm sure our former Grey Warden turned monarch will figure largely in the story.

Another one would be Morrigan. I'm pretty sure Flemeth will still manipulate events to her liking in the background, and her daughter won't be far behind trying to foil her.

The last one I could think of would be Leliana. As we saw in DA2, she is now working as a Seeker for the Divine of the Chantry. Which means she and the Inquisitor may cross paths on ocassion.

Alistair's role is liable to be limited by the fact he can die, or be a warden or be a drunk.

I assume Leliana's possible death wouldn't have got retconned if they didn't have fairly large plans for her.

I would like to see Talis again. I know she was a DLC character, but I think she could easily be given a larger role in DA3. Then again she could be given no role. She one those uncertain characters

Leliana most probably. I'd also be happy to see either of Varric and Aveline back, although I'm not sure if that is possible given the setting of the plot.

Morrigan and Leliana, mostly. Personally I'd love to see Merrill talk about what she's found out about the mirror(s) during an Arlathven as well.

Alistair is a very likely cameo, I think. Not only is he well-loved, there seem to be trouble brewing in Ferelden.

She falls through the mirror wounded, but we don't see her actually die. Doubt she's dead even for those who stabbed her, that option was about showing how the Warden felt more than anything.

hm...good question. Leliana, Varric and Tallis are the most likely, imo. Morrigan and Alistair are possible, too, but not as likely as the other three, I think. Other than that, maybe Zevran and/or Fenris. I don't think any of the others would show up, maybe a mention here and there, but actual screen-time, I doubt it.

We'll see, I guess. :-)

If we are very lucky we well get Gorim. If Bioware really does hate us then it will be Jowan. If they track forum frequenters by how annoying we are then it could be anyone from Gorim to Ser Gilmore to Soris to Dark!Tamlin to Jowan.

Agreed. I don't want to see that piece of crap again.

I believe that Leliana and Flemeth will most likly play a role in the next game.

Jowan's girlfriend, the tale of one who was loved, supported and helped by a blood mage without her knowing his nature. You could definitely go somewhere with that =)

Really? I thought the companions were personally the highlight of the game. In fact interacting with them was what made the whole experience bearable for me.

Leliana could die, but somehow it didn't count.

What about Oghren? Can he die in Awakening?

Leliana and Morrigan are pretty much certainties, and I'd be surprised if Tallis doesn't show up. The qunari sleeper agents seem like a pretty big plot thread, her and Leliana are connected somehow, and if people are right about the mage/templar war being orchestrated by the qunari...

I'd like to see the living Hawke twin show up, and while not companions, odds are good Bodahn and Sandal will be back.
