Unless your Hawke decided to back the Templars in DA2, I don't see that happening. Fenris is already well known as one of Hawke's Companions, so if Hawke sided with the mages, I don't think the Templars would be very welcoming.jackattack1374 wrote...
I thnk several past companions will show up for cameos but as far as having an extensive part? I'd say Anders (can't have a mage/templar war without a mage extremist), and I can see Fenris jumping into the fray for the templars as well.
Which former companion could be play a big part in DA3?

1. Shale: Just too Hilarious and awesome to ignore.
2. Morrigan: Obvious awesome plot here, awesome personality, actually awesome all around.
3. Leliana: Great personality aswell.
4. Varric: The best personality of DA2 imo.
5. Zevran: for his awesome comments and conversations with the different women totally cracked me up in DAO.
I would put Alistair in there for his awesome humor, but Seems kinda unrealistic to take the King of the realm on a epic suicide Journey.
Id like to see most chars tho as non companions. to get the feel of dept like in the ME games.

Alistair, Isabella, and Varric will probably make a cameo, only because there's no way that they can be killed as far as I know. Sebastian might make an appearance too.
Anders might be back if you let him live, but I wouldn't expect him to play a major role in the story. He's played his part already in DA2.

Alistair- Being the King and all oh also the "things arent going well with Orlais"
Only if you made him king would he appear though.
Leliana- Cause lol, shes like totally important now even if you killed her!
She will appear no matter what...
Anders- He started the rebellion, that's pretty important.
He wont appear if you killed him. Word from God made that clear.
Morrigan- Sweet old god baby I hope not.
No.Just no.

I'm not saying this is a deal breaker or anything, but that'd definitely be a tick for the "Pro" column when I'm deciding whether to buy DA:I new, used, or not at all.

As much as I am opposed to the Qun, I just can't help falling in love with Sten all over again each time I replay Origins...Rawgrim wrote...

Several of them are possibly dead (Anders, Zevran, Nathaniel, Wynne, Fenris, just to name a few) and many others don't seem to have any connection to the mage templar conflict beyond having once travelled with Hawke. I see no need for them to come back.
That said, I suppose I could accept a mage returning (Morrigan and Merrill are, I think, the only ones who are not possibly dead) or I suppose they could toss some Templars we know into the game.

He also helps repopulate the mabari after the blight:Sauruz wrote...
Definitely Dog. He's gonna save the day.

He has returned to your side after some time spent in the kennels in Denerim. Ferelden lost many of its war dogs during the Blightand kennel masters selected your prized hound to strengthen their packs. He has been mated with female hounds from all over Ferelden and has sired several litters of puppies.
Get a puppy from DA:O's Doggy to have and raise throughout the game? Yes, please!

I think Anders will show up in one way or another (unless you've previously killed him, of course), though probably not as a major character. And if the Qunari have any sort of major plot involvement, we'll probably see Tallis and Sten at some point, as well.
As for NPCs, if Cassandra and Flemeth don't make an appearance, I'll be shocked. I know they're not companions, but I thought they deserved a shout-out.

Personally though, I want to see Zevran and his one man crusade against the Crows Play out, even if its only a side mission.

I'd say Varric, but I sort of want each DA protagonist to have their own chronicler
