I know that in certain missions you have to a specific squad mate, but I tend to always pick the same squad mates if possible in a play through, so in my first ME3 run it was always Ashley if available, and if possible Vega. 2nd run it was always Garus (when unlocked) and if possible EDI.

I do the same in ME1 as well.

Seeing how I dislike all but 2 or 3 squadmates in ME3 - yeah. Also did it in ME1, but that's mostly to complement my character, in terms of skills and what-not.

Usually when I want to hear all the dialogue available from a specific squadmate, yeah. On my first playthrough, I tend to rotate through squadmates evenly so they're all contributing to the cause. On subsequent ones, I mainly play to hear their commentary so it's more exclusive from that point on.

I used to. Now I bring squad mates best suited to strip the defenses of the enemies I'll be fighting.

I almost invariably run through the game with Garrus. In ME1 & 2, he's always the first one I recruit (not counting Zaeed, since he just kind of show up without any effort and he makes getting Garrus a bit easier on Insanity).

I always had more fun playing with Garrus and Wrex in ME1 (save for killing Benezia on Noveria, I bring Liara for that). ME2, Garrus and Grunt/Zaeed. Vega just doesn't compare to the brogan or everyone's favorite merc.

Tali and Garrus. Does that mean I roll with no biotics? Yep. Do I care? Nope. Why? Because I have my sniper rifle of awesome and that's all I need.

I used Garrus and Wrex in ME 1 almost exclusively. Then I used Garrus and Miranda (until Legion comes along) in ME 2 almost exclusively. Then I used Garrus and Javik in ME 3 almost exclusively. The common theme obviously is Garrus. He's awesome and he's arguably one of the most effective squadmates in combat throughout the series.

I tended to stick with the same combos, which, in hindsight I kind of wish I had more variety. That's definitely what I'll be changing in my next playthroughs because it's important to tailor your team to be most effective against the specific enemy that you're facing.

My first several playthroughs I used everyone to hear the different dialogue between squadmates on the mission.

The rest of my playthroughs I don't have Tali and Garrus in ME3. I always use Ashley(after coup) and James.

I don't use the robot until Chronos.

ME1--Ashley and Kaidan
ME2--Miranda and Zaeed
ME3--Ashley and James

In ME1 I use only Wrex and Garrus.

In ME2 I always bring Miranda. The other squadmate depends on the mission.

In ME3 I always bring EDI/Javik, depending on my class.

ME2: Garrus&Legion / Garrus&Tali / Garrus&Miranda
ME3: Garrus&Liara / Garrus&Tali

Varies in different playthroughs. Tali and Garrus were frequent ME1 companions for hacking purposes, and they grew on me. Liara is typically a late arrival - I have Wrex for biotics. As much as I like Ashley's character in ME1, I have little use for her in the field.

Come ME2, I find myself recruiting Garrus and Tali again as soon as their missions are unlocked.

Am I the only one that uses a 'human-only' team?
ME1: Ashley & Kaidan(replaced by Garrus after Virmire)
ME2: Miranda & Jacob
ME3: Ashley & James

I think you are the only one who uses Jacob (except Freedom's Progress and his Loyalty mission, of course) :D

I always picked my squadmates based on who I'd take into a certain situation if I was actually commanding an away team.

ME2: Garrus and Zaeed were always on missions with heavy mercenary and/or Blue Suns  presence, considering their experience with such groups. Kasumi went with me on Thane's recruitment mission as an infiltration expert to try and predict his clandestine tactics. Miranda went with me on highly delicate recruitment and internal missions as the Cerberus contact (Jack, Hammerhead retrieval, etc). Mordin went to Horizon with me to field test his swarm countermeasures personally.

ME3: On the Sur'Kesh and Tuchanka missions, I always had Garrus and James along. Considering how it is a diplomatic effort on behalf of Palaven (despite all the explosions and battles), Garrus is there monitoring things as the Turian field representative and James is my Alliance contact. I brought EDI along quite often during Cerberus-related missions, in case she could provide any extra insight. I bring Javik along on missions with a Prothean element, like Thessia. During Alliance and N7 ground and pound missions with no outside interests, I stick with Kaidan and James.

Even on Hardcore and Insanity, I carry the team enough to the point where thinking about squad mechanics is an afterthought mostly reserved for the 3rd slot on any mission, if it's empty.

nope. I always favor a human squad for my male soldier Shepard. Garrus is the only alien I will willingly use, and that's because Garrus is awesome.

ME1: Ash and Kaiden (Garrus replaced Ash after Virmire)
ME2: Zaeed and Miranda
ME3: Vega and Kaiden (Garrus before Citadel coup)

You are not alone. Though I find Zaeed is a better squadmate then Jacob

Depends on my Mood

I have played through enoguh times that I've heard mostly everybody's squad banter

-Vega and Garrus = the Best-

I'm thinknig about doing a Edi and Javik run.

Me1: I always switched around

Me2: Even thoguh its kinda pointless I always try to atleast give the squad one extra mission... even though there is barely enough missions for a 12 man squad.

Only in ME3.

I use Garrus and Liara almost exclusively. Occasionally Javik. I like Tali but I don't find her skillset all that useful to me, so I don't user her.

EDI and James do not interest me in the least and I only use them when forced to.

I tend to randomize them alot.
I bring them along for their one-liners mostly, sometimes for certain encounters.
Although the RNG seems to ignore Jacob & Vega alot more than any of the others, hmm...needs more tests :)

Liara and EDI, if I'm feeling exclusive.
