Auto-revive makes the AIU unique? Don't make me laugh. Excuses for bad players needing a crutch is what it is!

Repair Matrix is not an easy ride to soloing platinum for bad players. The chance of a bad player doing the auto-revive into a sync kill before completing platinum is virtually 100%
Don't worry about scrubs soloing platinum with the AIU. It isn't going to happen.

Which doesn't help bad players as its insta-revive. They then have just enough time to activate repair matrix then go down again.
The main difference is medigel allows you to let enemies move away as it is under your control. If you're good enough to instagel normally without running into 0 gel status, then you're not a "bad" player

So what if other people have a crutch? Some will use her as training wheels, to get used to gold or platinum. You don't have to play her.
Second, you can't really convince me that you played exactly the same as if you had auto revive. Without auto revive, you were more careful, you didn't go running up into a brutes face while a crew of Marauders surrounding you. You seem to be implying that you can make up for not having auto revive with "skill." Well, not really. You make a trade off. You do less damage, but stay alive. Auto revive lets you deal the damage, have the aggressive gameplay, and still stay alive. And I'm back to my first point, if some people want crutches for playing aggressively, why not let them have it?

So I just got online on my Xbox and wanted to level up my level 10 AIU, HardcoreSalmon was online so we did a relaxing Gold duo. We wanted to do it without using the OP Repair Matrix so Salmon used a build without it and I had two ranks in it so I used it during pizza delivery to move faster but not more than that.
Salmon had full Fitness on his character while I went with no Fitness, he used Shield Power Cells III while I used Cyclonic I.
End result without using Repair Matrix was an easy and relaxing Gold duo with 10 waves survived. So anyone that really believes that this class need to have the auto-revive in order to make it "unique" should go hide in a closet somewhere because that argument is just plain stupid. There is no need for the auto-revive except for making bad players soloing Platinum without breaking a sweat.

Aha, there is the problem, I can see it now.

I agree, but I question why it's anybody else's business how somebody solos platinum. Why should I care if somebody solos platinum with an easy kit?

I agree, except for one thing:
Twice now, I've cancelled synch-kills using the AIU, once against a brute, once against a Banshee.
It also completely failed to protect me against a Banshee once, so the results are not consistent. But I wouldn't try and solo Platinum with an AIU. At least not without more practice.

Anyway, I fail to see the point of this thread.
Of course you don't need to spec into the revive ability, but it's still there, combined with cloak. *shrug*
The point is that people are trying to protect this "unique" class by preventing a nerf to the auto-revive. But in reality it is just a cover up for people being too bad to play the game. This thread is a testament to show that those arguments are invalid. A useless ability for the class which only supports bad gameplay by bad players, that's all it is.
Naw. The bad players having the box of shame on Rio for that. Seriously, your assertion is without merit. Bad players are going to get easy credits one way or another and whether the AIU has auto revive or not doesn't change that.

It is consistent. I realized after more time that appearing to cancel sync kills is a result of being killed by surrounding enemies before the killing animation happens. The same is true for medigel when you appear to get sync killed but can gel to get up.
*sync kill animation starts* > Marauder still shoots at you > kills you before the Banshee hand through the gut > you can gel/auto-revive as a result of already being dead.

Its a game, if a player's underwear gets bunched up because another joins the lobby with a TGI or AIU, that's their problem, not the player using it. BW created these characters for anyone and everyone to use. If you don't like it, play with friends, complain to BW, but don't take it out on the players that use them.

Even if Repair Matrix didn't autorevive, I would still spec into it. You're missing out on DR & Speed bonuses.
1. Salmon forgot his password to his old account and can't get it back, so he had to start again with an empty mainfest
2. I use Repair Matrix for the DE & Speed, it fits perfectly with the character and is a great ability

Bad players. "Bad" players can't just have fun and enjoy the game?
What is a "bad" player anyway? Someone who possibly works full time
Games on weekends, has kids, or maby just someone who uses games to vent
After a day at work, and enjoys a beer or two with his/her friends.
Sorry for the rant, but sometime i think these elitist players take things way to seriously.
So what if she is op, don't use her, and let the not so good players have fun with a character that auto revives.
I have a perfect solution for all your arguments - play Bronze.
