Auto-revive makes the AIU unique? Don't make me laugh. Excuses for bad players needing a crutch is what it is!

I am awesome, that's why I got 10 waves survived. Salmon is also awesome, because he was in the same game as me when I got 10 waves survived, so you can say that I helped him get 10 waves survived too. How awesome is that?!

It's both. She's uniquely immortal and thus uniquely OP. But I'm confused as to why people can't comprehend that she's too damned much.
How so? I judge a kit OPness by the impact on the metagame.
Take the Geth Infiltrator. Once it was discovered how strong it was, you couldn't go into a lobby without there being two or more GI. Which is one of the reasons that cloak got nerfed.
I don't see alot of AIU in lobbies. Maybe everyone's fears will be confirmed and there will be two or more in every lobby but until that time comes, I think the jury is still out on this one.
Hell, I have seen more Juggernauts and Warlords in every lobby. They are fricking everywhere.

So I just got online on my Xbox and wanted to level up my level 10 AIU, HardcoreSalmon was online so we did a relaxing Gold duo. We wanted to do it without using the OP Repair Matrix so Salmon used a build without it and I had two ranks in it so I used it during pizza delivery to move faster but not more than that.
Salmon had full Fitness on his character while I went with no Fitness, he used Shield Power Cells III while I used Cyclonic I.
End result without using Repair Matrix was an easy and relaxing Gold duo with 10 waves survived. So anyone that really believes that this class need to have the auto-revive in order to make it "unique" should go hide in a closet somewhere because that argument is just plain stupid. There is no need for the auto-revive except for making bad players soloing Platinum without breaking a sweat.
Pictures for anyone interested:
Bad players soloing platinum has....0 effect on you.

How can you argue the power is a crutch when you haven't even experimented with it? Shouldn't you do that first, before determining it is OP and a crutch?
I have. Do you honestly think that this was the first game I played with that character?
Sorry, I thought I read in the OP that your playing partner specced out of it, and you decided to try it with two ranks.

Clearly Tactical Cloak, Snap Freeze, and good weapons are crutches for scrubs.

Absolutely wrong thing to say here, but I hope I can get one Platinum solo in before they nerf her. I tried with no equipment and still failed to a sync kill on wave 3 trying to get a device.dumdum2 wrote...

Gels and team revives make you immortal too. Should we remove those? If immortality is your issue then you should be consistent.
Last night I revived a player 12 times in a single game. Funny thing was he was playing the bot. Hmmmm...

Maybe it will encourage other players to try higher difficulties and actually make them better. The hardest part of adjusting to an increase in difficulty is survivability. This helps mitigate that, hopefully improving the player base as a whole.

Anyway, I fail to see the point of this thread.
Of course you don't need to spec into the revive ability, but it's still there, combined with cloak. *shrug*
The point is that people are trying to protect this "unique" class by preventing a nerf to the auto-revive. But in reality it is just a cover up for people being too bad to play the game. This thread is a testament to show that those arguments are invalid. A useless ability for the class which only supports bad gameplay by bad players, that's all it is.
U fool cloak recovery useless???

So you're saying it doesn't need a nerf? Because that's what it being useless would imply.
But of course that's not what you meant, right? You're saying it's a crutch and anybody using it should feel bad because you're super awesome and don't need to use it! That's your point right? Shake your fist at those scrubs using a power you think is OP, they're bad at the game because they don't play the same way you do!
Get over yourself. Congrats, you can duo gold with a AIU without using RM. I'm happy for you, I really am, but that shows absolutely nothing either way for balance. It really doesn't. The way you play doesn't equal the way the majority plays, and no way is right. Make an actual argument for why this power is OP and not "It's a crutch for players that are worse than me!"

the game is slowly but surely nearing the end of its useful life so reducing the barrier of entry would attract more newcomers, generating more $$ for other outstanding projects. that's why the reckoning characters were quite incredible and with a chance to unlock one for free off the bat also goes well with BW's dedication to the fans.
or this is how I see things.

I judge OPness by its actual abilities. The GI was OP before it was everywhere. I think most players haven't sorted out how to be immortal with her, and when they do, she'll be everywhere, stealing all the grenades.Balcathor wrote...
