I'm no fan of the indoctrination theory and am in no way suggesting they are going that road. But doing an indoctrination story but where Shepard breaks out of it in the end(proving once and for all that the Reapers CANNOT control him.)
If any of you guys here are Smallville watchers, remember the episode from Season 5 called Splinter? Where Clark got a fragment of silver kryptonite in his system and he started having hallucinations and paranoia about everybody being against him?
Could be something like that.

The squadmate left behind on Virmire was vaporized by a nuclear blast. No amount of cybermancy can bring someone back from that.
Saren's base on Virmire was so well fortified that the nuke had to be placed in a specific place to destroy it. Ash wanted to just drop it on the base while they were leaving and Kirrahe flat out said that wouldn't work.
Considering that, it's feasibly possible that the Virmire Sacrifice could have made it to a bunker or a place that would offer some safety from the blast.
However, both Kaidan and Ash were like "Forget me, save the other" so they probably wouldn't hold it against Shepard.

that was before the blast, after the blast, and the searing pain, that could change.

What if it's the escaped Yahg from Sur'Kesh?
The Reapers are leaving Parnack alone, if this cycle fails, the Yahg are unopposed to conquer the galaxy...
It's simple...
We kill The Shepard...
Reason to kill Shepard, and reason the mission isn't available earlier...

How does one survive being at ground zero for a megaton nuclear detonation?

The same way Saren's base could survive having a nuke dropped on it except for being elaborately.
Saren had good contractors.

I bet it is someone we never met, who heard about Shepard and ended up indoctrinated.

Kidding aside, the Yahg would be a possibility. They are the only party beside the Reapers and their thralls who would benefit from the galaxy losing the war, at least the only one I can think of.

Nah it's definitely the shifty looking cow on Ontarom. Turn your back on it and it steals your credits. I knew it was up to even more than that...

Yesterday bird started a thread and in like...5 posts CP jumped to defend him...which I never see him do. He went on to say that if bird begins trolling he'll be punished like any troll attempt...yet he never is...despite CONSTANTLY trolling the forums by quoting CP HIMSELF INACCURATELY...and CP NEVER corrects him, but corrects EVERYONE else. Anyone else notice this?

Hahaha, mine opened up to 'Systems Alliance'. Then I realized how curveball of a conspiracy that could unfold to be. I've got my eye on you, Hackett.
