not sure if you guys know, but the omnibow is incredible buggy and can kill you anytime anywhere.

bugs I have found.

a) onmi bow gets stuck in firing position, you cant press to fire (please stop using server side controls on these powers! )
B) omni bow target lock is followed thru walls, causing it to be deadly when mixed with A (you will be unnable to switch guns nor fire the bow until the time out is reached, and you will miss anyway)
c) Omni bow by itself does incredibly pitiful damage even when maxed.
you require 3/4 bow shots with all melee bonuses to actually kill a normal guy in SILVER.
cant even imagine trying on gold or platinum.
d) during laggy games, the bow is constantly reseted and projectiles disappear (again, stop using server side confirmation for this power! same annoyance with the recon mine disappearing but getting the huge timeout like you had fired it) .
e) Projectiles are visible on target, yet they do not take damage (could be any enemy)


Also Mines are very buggy as well, as they cling on different angles according to their rotation. sometimes I've seen the thing looking up or down in a rail, despite firing it square in the middle of it (happens a lot in firebase RIO) also on the floor they sometimes get stuck looking at the floor angle.. making them useless.
sometimes the mines are ignored completely (fire them at the floor, big distance.. see enemy walk.. specially phantoms.. no explosion.. ironically, the next enemy might trigger it )

and speaking of bugs, also fix the Melee of the Juggernaut (sometimes refuses to connect or "grab the enemy", you have to try 4-5 times sometimes!!! and the matrix shield is almost useless considering it can block your projectiles and some guns completely! )

almost feels like this last patch was done for people who have always 100% perfect localhost like ping.

(buggy arrows on the talon, buggy melees on juggernaut, buggy powerups on the talon and collector, buggy registering on the talon mine and collector powers)

haven't read through it all but the thing that bugged me the most about the talon (apart from resetting keybinds) was the auto aim feature.
on PC at least, it just messes up my standard gameplay, because while aiming, I am so helpless it's sickening, because the mook I was aiming at so quickly chooses cover, and I can't move properly while aiming, I have only two choises: keep aiming and hope the mook takes a peek soon, or just shoot at a wall and try again later, I can't choose a new target while aiming, I can't move properly to get situational awareness, hide from threats etc.

I dropped into a running gold match only with gear. It was a pain. I had to use missiles to kill atlases and phantoms. I had respecced focussing on the trip mines and grenade capacity.

Like others, I had him standing in the open for a felt eternity when firing the bow. I guess it's lag related.

Previously I had tried an omni bow build that felt like the first game against collectors. Too much exposure when firing. Awkward strafing. I like archers, every single time I pick an archer in Skyrim playthroughs but this guy would have worked better with TC as it is. Keybinding profiles might help, too - I didn't rebind anything.

And I sorely missed a melee attack.

Last match I load my full specced AP arrow and shot a dragoon in face twice, he don't even drop a block of armor, and the same arrow did drop a brute to half before....

I feel sometimes teh arrows are not registered or what, landing on the right place. Or maybe I am just lagging.

I tried the Talon on Gold twice today. Apart from the key bindings going back to default, I noticed that the thermal packs are not showing up on the HUD. The default key "8" did not work.

Another bug is that when I set a fourth trip mine, one of the existing ones disappear but the graphic is still there. This can get quite confusing as it is hard to keep track of which mines are active and which are duds.

5) Locking onto targets

The bow has a lock-on mechanic that uses the same targeting as powers to determine who it will hit. To hit targets, ensure that you have them highlighted (just like you would if you fired a power like Incinerate). Once you have a target highlighted and hold the melee button, your camera will lock on to that target and your arrows should seek to him when you release the bow. Enemies can dodge your arrows just like any other power.


Another tip of sorts: you can use this locking mechanism to perfectly aim your charge-up weapons (Kishock, Graal, Venom, Arc Pistol, Acolyte, GPS). Press and hold fire button, then press and hold melee button, then release fire button after locking-on.

Would it be possible to increase the number of charges from 2 to maybe 3 or even 4? Using a grenade spot for 2 shots is sort of weak, I believe. If they want us to use his Omni-Bow more, we need to be able to use his powers more too. Maps like Glacier and Condor really hurt this character. Remember when they said that you'll be using your weapons less with this guy, hard to believe when you need to run around the map for grenades.

My problem with the talon merc is you either get a character who can survive by investing in health and shields, but a rubbish omni crossbow, or you invest in melee, and you have a seriously squishy character with an okay omni crossbow. The problem for this particular character is, it takes time to prime the bow, in that time, assuming you went max melee, you can find yourself on the ground.

It seems to me this choice means you can do decent damage but to squishy to use your weapon of choice, or you take defence and render your special weapon redundant in comparison to your standard weapons.

I have begun to just Spec max damage cain, max out 2 passives, fitness is max hp and shields, and just forget rest of the points as the bow just simply is awfull, played some nice game with it so far. using Claymore/Reegar and executioner with heavy barrel and scope, and shocktrooper spec.

I'll give it another go with some of these tips, but the main problem I have is the amount of time it takes to line up a charged shot. Might as well shoot things in the head with my gun instead.

This makes lots of sense since enemies can't roll outside a melee.
If a player misses enemies it's his fault, but enemies can't roll out of melee

f) sometimes the Bow locks or keeps the lock on dead targets (only had that once).

problem with this is heavy melee and light melee are same key(with no way to rebind, just like rez/cover/pickup) and often the game doesn't interpret a quick tap of F as light melee it just does a heavy melee. (running into the same issue on Krogan Thor)

It's nowhere even close to that. There needs to be significant boosts to this kit before a bow build would even seem remotely appealing.


Exactly.

With this insane level of min-maxing I can just make a Javelin focused GI beast instead, oneshotting all the things on the other side of the map through several meters of cover.

Or a Shadow Infiltrator slicing all the things like a prosciutto from the safety of her stealth movement.

Or..

Another significant problem on consoles is that heavy melee must be charged but it requires the player to take his thumb off the stick for the duration of the charge up. This limits mobility and thus survivability. Preferably Omni bow would be a bumper ability.

My issue when trying to build my powers is knowing what power is considered melee or a power.  Your wording really helps!
