Good point, I just don't like the delay, however, it can do some damage, especailly with power amp.

Has the resetting controls issue been fixed? I rly would love to play this class but reassigning keys is annoying

Dump the bow...I wish the character had come with a pylon and freeze grenades or something of that nature. But since this is what we got, will play it as needed for challenges but after that...poof. Sorry

I might try the suggestions. I find the omni-bow to be meh. Oh how I love those mines. I only added armor piercing arrows so I could have more MINES. With lots of beautiful mines and a harrier I am having lots of fun on platinum and gold.

I wanna ask to those who are used to the bow with this character ; I don't play this character at all, but I've seen a guy playing it and one-shooting almost every single target in Gold with the Omni-Bow, is this even possible ?

I've seen a Geth Prime losing 5-6 bars of Armor with one Arrow, the guy didn't have a single melee boost equipment, even my AIU built with full melee, cloak melee, and equipment boosts can't do such a thing.

He ended up top scoring (175,449, I did 165,258) even though he had barely 700 Challenge Pts / N7 236 with 36h of play, he didn't even use his weapon, neither did he use missiles.

Either he cheated, or he is incredibly good, or the character became completely utterly broken after balance.

Good point, I just don't like the delay, however, it can do some damage, especailly with power amp.



if you aim at the feet, it doesnt get much delay.
plus its harder to miss with the scorpion than with the lousy falcon's bouncyness..

Sounds like the monsters were being debuffed my something like snap freeze.

But no the character is not BROKEN it has high dps potential at the cost of durability...:?

I'm going to test a build focused on the omni-bow and ditch those cain trip mines.

I don't know if it's a glitch or something but one shot of my concussive arrows can sometimes insta-kill a phantom (or any other enemy who have a red health bar) in full barriers and health. The enemies don't even fly off the map and I generally don't use any gear to boost my melee damage and I'm evolved for durability. I hope this is not a glitch because this feature really makes the omni-bow  much more usefull. CA insta-kills have saved my ass more than a few times... :D

My concussive arrows have the chill evolution.

ok so i love this character and have a build that does most of it's damage with armor piercing arrows. The idea is to max every oppurtunity for melee damage bonuses as the bow counts as melee damage and yeah you can one shot mooks and do hella damage to bosses with thebow.  This is the first character I can reliably and consistently get 150k points on Gold.

My Build:
Cain Trip Mines - Radius, Armor Damage, Radius
AP Arrows - Damage, Armor Damage, Arrow Count
Elite Mercenary - Power Damage, Power Damage, Charge Generation
Omni-Bow Mastery - Omni-Bow Damage, Killing Spree, Omni-Bow Damage

Arc Pistol X - Melee Stunner V, Heavy Barrel V
Genade Capacity V

With this build, I can 1-2 shot nearly all mooks. The charge mechanics of Arc Pistol work very well with the bow without slowing down bow usage. A charged shot from Arc Pistol is about 800+ damage, supplementing the 2k+ damage you would be doing with the bow.

The bow's auto aiming mechanic makes sure I never miss a shot wit the Arc Pistol. I usually take Drill ammo with me so even if enemies are in cover, and my bows can't reac them, my Arc Pistol shots can and accurately with the bow's auto aim.

I tried out other charge weapons, but none does as well as a good job as the Arc Pistol. Wiith the Graal, Kishock & GPS, I find I miss my targets more often because these are projectile weapons. The Acolyte is a good alternative, but I'd like to be effective to all defense types. The Arc Pistol is probably the only charge weapon that's also hitscan, guaranteeing I'll hit my targets. Plus, it deals great damage for a pistol, has great ammo capacity, lightweight, and it bypasses shield-gate.

AP Arrows almost guarantees it will OHKO any mook and is a great boss killer. I only wished it would actually penetrate cover and guardian's shield since it is ARMOR-PIERCING, but oh well. I tried Concussive Arrows before and I find them very lacking. They are great for staggering or launching an enemy, but their damage is not significant and I don't need anything competiting in my grenade pool with AP Arrows & Cain Mines. Con-Arrows just doesn't cut it. Any enemy I can hit with Con-Arrow and stun them, I could have almost definitely killed them with AP Arrows.

Cain Mines can take out spawns or weaken them greatly with 9m radius explosion. These mines allow me to not worry about my flank since I usually position to cover my blind spots. This allows me to focus on shooting down everything else with my bow and Arc Pistol without any worries. 

One thing about this character that may turn people off is his durability. I feel choosing the shield fitness evolutions are a waste, or adding any shield equipment/consumables are waste as well. No matter what, he'll remain squishy, but I realize you have to learn to be the master of soft cover if you want to conquer this weakness. Once I had started using soft cover  a lot more often, I ended up dying significantly less.

I decided to try out your strategy and it works beautifully on platinum too. No reason to evolve for durability when 
you can kill the enemy before it even knows it. Charged weapons, omni-bow and soft cover syncronized = awesomness!  And the AP arrows are a lot better than the Concussive ones. The damage output is just tremendous. Only things I miss is to see the enemies fly and the occasional insta-kill on phantoms but then again the AP Arrows can waste phantoms super quickly. :D

I just finally really tried the Talon, having initially discarded him, because of the bindings issues.
Since that problem is mostly "solved" by the community, i tried a few things. I noticed exactly the same thing as the later posts (i hadn't read them): stagger weapons work great on this guy, with the Falcon topping them all easily in that department.

I ran the Venom on him though, mostly because of the omniblade and i now have a Venom X and wanted to test how the patch affected it. In fact i stacked about anything weak and "recent" i could think of: Venom, Adas, Explosive ammo.

I wanted some stagger potential, both heavy melee and grenade (went 5/3/6/6/6). The Venom somehow worked how i wanted it, but i much, much prefer the Falcon for the role. Venom dps feels much better though.
Third gold game on the same map with the same 3 fellas and i made from bottom in the first to top of the scoreboard after i learned the ropes, in a decent time.


It felt good, especially the AP arrows, however i'm not sure what to do with Concussive arrows. I thought they'd hit hard on barriers/shields but hey don't seem to hurt much, whether at 3 or 6. After i looked at the builder i saw they only had a barrier bonus, low one at that, which disappointed me.
Since Adas felt less powerful than an Avenger, i guess it's yet another job for the Acolyte. Poor Adas is so weak it hurts me more than the enemy. It needs not a buff, but a miracle.

Is it possible to have an official statement about key binding resset of this character ? I searched the forum and all I found was end-user solutions and complains, but no statement of any kind about this bug.

Older thread : Several weeks... (!) newer thread : 10 hours...

I would be glad to know if you are working on it or if you consider as a "minor bug not to be fixed".

What counts as hitting hard?  I get half the barrier off a banshee with one shot in platinum.  Biggest glitch I see is that he can't do over cover grabs.

I LOVE the post-buff talon. The damage increases across the board were great, but IMO the biggest buff was the ROF increase, from 3 seconds per shot to .3 of a second. So now not only can you OHK any mook with full melee+power damage and shotgun omniblade, you can drop one every .3 seconds :D He has a couple drawbacks, namely squishiness and the weird way the bow works from cover, but he's now a true glass cannon. Doesn't hurt that the build that maximizes your bow power doesn't hurt the already insanely powerful trip mines.

I don't know if that was a glitch but i didn't see that happening at all. When i put AP arrows on, i see big chunks of the plat banshee's armor disappearing, with Concussive arrows i'm far from that, even on barriers which are lower than her armor hp to boot with. I went full strength damage except for the gear slot (grenade capacity V) with 6 in CS, then back to 3 because AP arrows make them quasi-useless (and i never use 6/6/6/6/0 type builds).

I'm loving this guy with a Falcon - the stun gives enough time for the home-in every time and obviously when you stun a group, well you are not getting fired upon. Works for me.

How exactly do you fire the omni bow? I've leveled this guy up to 18 thanks to free XP but I can't figure out how to use his powers. The trip mins seem fine but nothing happens when I fire either concussive or armor piercing.

melee = fire crossbow.
longer you hold melee, the closer together the arrows shoot.

Using explosive or concussive power make your next few arrows fire that type instead of normal ones.

One word: VENOM. This character was born with this shotgun in hands. Trick is, charge up Venom and release along with arrows. The effect is devastating... same with Ki-Shock and Graal, auto-aim= win

I just figured out the bows thanks to Indy and with the trip mines this class is so much fun to use. I forget I even have guns equipped.
