For those of you saying he's all about tanking and has no damage, you're doing it wrong.  If I'm running the Juggy, I'm consistently breaking the 100k mark (Platinum runs) while playing with 3 other players.  I've yet to finish on top of the scoreboard, but 2nd and 3rd is pretty standard.

If a kit can't consistently land in first place in a PUG, doubling the third and fourth place scorers, than it doesn't have a lot of damage output in my opinion. Not a lot of damage output means it can't be overpowered.

Scoring 100k in a platinum game...are you setting the map and enemy? Because in my experience pretty much everyone always breaks the 100k mark in plat games. It's hardly some kind of measuring stick for overpoweredness.

Juggs can tank like a boss but his damage output is just not that great. Pretty well balanced kit in my opinion.

Edit: survivability =/= OP. The Havoc has loads of survivability but no one thinks he's OP. Survivability can be a factor in a kit being incredibly powerful if that survivability means the player can expose himself to more enemies in less time, but with the Juggernaut the speed is a severely limiting factor.

I love the Juggernaut, It makes for a great support unit. Even if it doesnt go down easy you cant just obliterate enemies and it's honestly more beneficial to just "walk" around and toss the shield for people and your turret to keep teammates alive while dishing out some damage on anything that gets to close. I actually enjoy using the combination of geth shotgun for heavy single target damage and the Stryker (though it's pretty worthless higher up) to soften up weaker units. Heck I even took the squad command just so I could help my team out even more forsaking the admittedly useful power transfer. So now My juggernaut may not be as powerful offense wise nor capable of tanking at the godly level but I can keep my team alive and putting out extra damage.

If anything, he needs a damge output buff, not a nerf. Also, I find his melee to be a bit underwhelming, and having the Spitfire at level X doesn't help the big guy kill more enemies then when it was at level I. And don't get me started on the turret..

You nearly hit it right on the nose.  100k is a benchmark for damage output.  If you're doing platinum and score significantly less, you better be doing something else that's helping the team in a dramatic way.  A volus, for example can help simply by healing.  An N7 Destroyer scoring 30k, however, is unacceptable and will receive a boot from me once the game is over.  A juggernaut that can hold his own weight with damage AND tank everything is OP.  Speed is not an issue with the juggernaut.  He can tank everything while killing everything.  He's strong enough to stand in the middle of the map and allow everything to come to him.  He can shoot the smaller enemies from a distance.  He can slowly wither the larger enemies away when they get to him.  Juggy isn't a speed run character.  If you're looking for 15 min platinums, go with the GI on glacier.  If you're looking for a GUARANTEED way to win platinum, go with the Juggy.

I'm glad you used the havoc as a reference.  He can do nearly all the same things as a juggernaut, but with two exceptions.  1)  He can run.  2)  He can die.  If a phantom sneaks up behind him, he's sync-killed.  You must have some knowledge of escape routes and solid awareness to effectively play him.  You must have 'grenades' to stay alive.  The juggernaut can ignore all of this.

A group of four Geth Juggernauts may not be able to complete platinum matches in the normal 20-30 minute range.  It is, however, a guaranteed win.  This gives those that have issues exracting on silver a way to extract on Platinum without putting in the effort the rest of us have.

For the rest of you:

Yes, sadly, the wife story DID happen.

I've stood in front of a turret before.  I laughed at how little my shields went down.  They're easily killed with siege.

Collectors are, by far, the most difficult faction.  I agree it's harder to stay alive when playing against them.  Then again, isn't that the case with every character?  Saying the juggernaut is a bad character because collectors have a chance of killing him is like saying Shaq was a horrible basketball player because he sucked at freethrows.

The basis behind nerfs should not be solo ability, that is all.

Read all the posts.  Plenty of people think he's bad.  Quite a few think he needs buffed.

Nobody said Shaq was horrible.  Because you obviously have issues understanding the point, I'll rephrase it JUST for you:

Saying he's only a good character because he MIGHT die against collector platinum is like saying Shaq is only an average basketball player because, while he was amazing at everything else for his time, he doesn't have the best record at freethrows.

Better?

I never said he should be nerfed because I can solo with him.  I said he should be nerfed because playing with him is a guaranteed win.  BIG difference.

When I first started playing, I sucked.  I worked my tail end off to get better at the game and be where I'm at now.  If other people want to be able to run gold / platinum waves, they need to do the same thing I did... put the effort in to get better.  Someone who has issues extracting on bronze should not be able to extract on platinum just because they got a new character.

scrubs will be scrubs regardless of kit, so saying that any kit = easy mode is stupid. ive been in many pugs with juggs or sexbots where they significantly under preform and take dirt naps for long spans of time. saying "im awesome and have played this game a ton, so everyone else must be held up to my standard" is also kinda retarded. new people and scrubs alike will not be able to pull off the kind of crap the vets will.

i said it with the procreationdroid and ill say it with the jugabug. in good hands this kit will be godly, in the wrong hands it will suck.

"I also love Rio when looking for PUGs. No, I don't use the box. I choose to run around the map while the other 3 typically cower in fear. (It's hilarious listening to them at times... "GET IN THE BOX!!!!!" lol)"

Yes... It's fun like teamdamaging and teamkilling in left4dead. Because I find it fun and the rest are having fun wrong it's ok for me to do it.

Besides it's allways such a chore to use the mouse and click a few buttons to find a new game. Then it's much better to annoy other people.

I respectfully disagree. Perhaps he matches your play style, but the Juggernaut is not overpowered on the higher difficulties.

Mobility as always been key on Gold (outside of the classic FBWGG anyway). Players need to keep moving to avoid sync-kills and flank attacks. If you round a corner and run into heavy enemy units while trying to flee from others your only option is to try and power through, whereas other characters can run past with little trouble.

The Juggernaut can take hits, but he can't escape. Even with the sync-kill immunity I've found that against the Reapers he really suffers. With my build one Banshee melee takes out about a third of my shields. Throw in some Marauders and a Brute and if you attempt to escape you die. All you can do is use the Heavy Melee until some Ravagers show up and finish you off.

The lack of mobility, and the lack of serious damage output, keeps the Juggernaut from being OP. He's very good if you're a good player with strong environmental awareness and can exploit his skills to the maximum benefit, but that is true of many other classes.

I don't know how it's like on the PC but almost every platinum PUG game you find is on Rio.  I don't mind playing it because I like the layout of the map.  I do not enjoy staying in the box of shame.  If that's what the other three players are going to do, fine.  I will still support them, but not by staying inside of it.  Instead, choose to run around the map and kill smaller things quickly to eat up the round's budget.  If I notice my teammates getting swarmed, I run back and help them.  I always keep an eye on my teammates, I don't leave them high and dry.

By staying out of the box, it often gives other players the confidence needed to explore outside the confines of a 4 eter rectangle.  I can't tell you how many times I see people slowly start to adventure out and realize there's more to platinum than a volus and a box.  When they do venture out, I'm right there (at a safe distance) to help them when needed.  Giving players the freedom of exploration is far from team damaging and team killing.

With that said, it's still hilarious to hear, "GET TO THE BOX!!!!"  After wave 1, I typically hear, "Keep doing what you're doing... this is awesome!"

Don't ever say I'm not a team player, or worse, that I purposefully hurt the team because I 'feel' like it.  I always strive to help, not to hurt.

The geth jugg is fine, he is made the way he is supposed to be, high survivability and low damage, or you can set him up for high damage low survivability and he tears **** up but needs assistance and can only tank 2 things, he is support character, aggros the sync killers and stuns phantoms

Hmm... Well I might have misread your post then and I'm sorry for that. Though theres been god knows how many posts about people sabotaging everyone elses fun. Apparently because there is only one kind of fun.

Still... I remember it as helluva annoying in ie. the left4dead series if 3 players wanted to try out some sort of specific tactic and the 4th just ran around doing his/her own thing.

Especially when a game with people who wanted to do something else was around 3 mouseclicks and 10 seconds of waiting away. Image IPB
