I'm having trouble beating Malvernis.  I'm lvl 12 dual weapon rogue and my party isn't optimal since I'm trying to get the bonus items with varric and anders, and I'm trying to get the Family Outing achievement with Bethany.  Since I have no warrior, I can only depend on my dog in order to tank and Malvernis uses some aoe attack which wipes my party out.  Does anyone have any tips?  Can I return to Kirkwall and come back without effecting the Family Outing achievement?

I've read that. It doesn't really help my party since I don't really have anyone to tank. Just need to know some other strategies.
