It's been asked about a decent amount today so here's the results of being shot while using the heavy melee of the Batarian Gauntlet:

750.000000
705.000000 // 45 damage
660.000000
615.000000
570.000000
525.000000
480.000000410.000000 // 70 damage

Target was a bronze Assault Trooper who does 50 damage * 1.4 for being out of cover = 70 damage. This means I was taking 25 less damage.

Since DR doesn't account for cover bonus, the Batarian Gauntlet gear grants you 50% damage reduction during the animation.

Thank you very much!

With the reduction in damage in comparison to the Batarian heavy melee, it makes sense that the Gear offers less DR as well.

50% vs 75% for true batarian heavy melee?

I still stand by the gear making the batarian brawler a novelty that has now died.

If you thought hate surfing with the batarian brawler was awesome, wait til they get it on a volus

Yeah, that's how it works.

Based on Flamebrose's post, it also looks like equipping the Batarian Gauntlet overrides the DR of your normal melee as well.

Random Fun Fact: While checking the true Batarian DR I had to go to wave 2, because the wave 1 Assault Trooper last target standing actually walked into my heavy melee and killed himself.

Whoohoo! Makes me very happy I slap that puppy regularly on my Prollector. Glad the added survivability wasn't just my imagination.

wait im confused

so If I equip this Gaunlet, on my Krogan (or any character) will it stack?

Second: what if a Batarian uses this gaunlet? will it stack also?

also does this gaunlet (lv 5 speaking) better then a normal batarian heavy melee?

It replaces the old melee with the Batarian gauntlet while standing still. If you're sprinting and use melee you still get your old melee. It doesn't stack, though.

The gauntlet is worse than the normal Batarian heavy melee in both damage and DR.

While Sprinting you get your old melee? That's odd. The gears in my head are turning... how can I abuse all this?

Another question, Cyonan:

Does the BatGear do only 75% damage to armor, like the regular Falcon Punch?

Was this answered already? Does the Batarian Gauntlet get bonus damage from melee mods and such?

Game files only have 1 variable which suggests it is.

Though since mine is already V I can't actually test it anymore.
