 OK. I just ran some tests on both guns.

Enemy: Cerberus
Difficulty: Gold
class: Turian Soldier
Equipment (on both Tempest and BPP): Heat Sink, Extended Barrel, AP IV, SMG Rail Amp III, SMG V. Stability III

My Tempest is X and my BPP is VI. I wanted to test them side by side on the best weapons handler in the game and the results were disturbing. I shredded enemies much more quickly with the Tempest than the BPP, part of the reason of course being that the Tempest is much more accuracte than the BPP but in general, even point blank, enemies dropped more quickly with the Tempest. The Atlas was close but melted at roughly the same speed with both the BPP and the Tempest.

The Tempest has more or less the same ROF, has a larger clip size, less recoil, better accuracy and almost the same damage. You can argue my BPP is only VI but a UR VI SMG compared to a Uncommon X SMG...it should be no contest.

BW, what on earth did you do to the BPP?!

What? The BPP has not cover penetration. The AP shot simply adds x5 damage but it does not help. The gun is terrible.

Stick to the Lancer or better yet, use the Tempest, it's much better than the BPP.

I think they were scared of making the N7 Hurricane redundant so tried to change the BPP a bit. They'll mess around with it in the balance changes I'm sure.

The Hurricane is one of the most OP weapons in the game, it's like the holy graal they won't touch, mess around, like what? give it 3.5% more damage? It lost nearly 40% damage from SP...it needs AT LEAST half that back.

Further to what I was saying yesterday, I still don't buy it. Ran with some very good players yesterday, in Platinum, used it on my TSol and ranked second.

It's recoil and accuracy is a problem (like the Hurricane), but try hip firing (like the Hurricane). Yes, the Hurricane has better DPS, but also a smaller clip.

BPP is certainly a top three SMG.

The Hurricane has the same clip size as the BPP. You could have done the same with the Tempest, also a top three SMG. You never used it in SP obviously. It is a shadow of its former self and there is no reason to use it over a Hurricane.

Spitfire is great but its only for certain characters.

I ran the same test, tempest vs bpp and got similar results. Tsol with locust was better against mooks and at range, bpp was slightly better against bosses. Hurricane, csmg and tempest are definetly better. Bpp and locust are equivalent.

I don't know. I can't log in, so I can't give you my honourable opinion.
But you still have time Stardusk, just convince everybody that it's underpowered, everybody makes a thread and voila, bioware is gonna buff it.

The treatment the BPP got was almost as bad as the adas. The BPP needs some serious help.

They cut the damage in half from SP, yet SP enemies have far less health than MP enemies... why Bioware?

Wow, you really want to keep this gun as bad as it is. Thanks, the best SMG in SP turned into a mediocre one...whilst the Hurricane is terrible in SP and the best gun in MP.

Indeed. I know what I saw. The Tempest, an uncommon is better. The BPP is a snarling joke. No reason to use it.

I doubled the score of Venom X wielding AIU with a Piranha X wielding N7 Slayer the other day.
Here's the better part, the man using the AIU is a much better player than I am, the weapon is expensive garbage.

After a year of MP, they still have no idea of balance.

Phew, I thought I was the only person underwhelmed by the BPP. I currently have it at VI, and with a CSMG X and Hurricane VI, I can't think of a reason to use the BPP over either one.
