Unfortunately balance changes are two weeks away. Despite the pitiful in game performance and player complaints, they probably won't have enough data to make a decision for a while. That is if they're bothering to look into it and have retained the staff to do so.

My Tempest is X and my BPP is VI. I wanted to test them side by side on the best weapons handler in the game and the results were disturbing. I shredded enemies much more quickly with the Tempest than the BPP, part of the reason of course being that the Tempest is much more accuracte than the BPP but in general, even point blank, enemies dropped more quickly with the Tempest. The Atlas was close but melted at roughly the same speed with both the BPP and the Tempest.

The Tempest has more or less the same ROF, has a larger clip size, less recoil, better accuracy and almost the same damage. You can argue my BPP is only VI but a UR VI SMG compared to a Uncommon X SMG...it should be no contest.

BW, what on earth did you do to the BPP?!:crying:


I have BPP at lvl X and it still does terribad damage. It definitely needs a 10% damage buff.

Here was Bioware's(edit lol) strategy.

1. Release three good classes
2. Release weak cabal and crap talon. Tune up overtime so as not to alert the masses of criers on forums.
3. Release OP AIU to appease the other masses
4. Ruin Adas/BPP/Venom. Previous DLC Weapons were released too strong and nerfed down. Slowly buff up over the next few months.
5. Release two good guns to tide people over. Punisher and Supressor here we come.

Spitfire is great but its only for certain characters.

Venom might to be balanced around level X. lol biower.

I have all at level X and they are not deserved UR title.

Make BPP a rare. Problem solved. If they are boxed in by certain weapons(Hurricane, Harrier, Claymore, etc.), then what else can they do?

Yeah, BPP is a joke. It's like they completely forgot the accuracy on it was garbage. It has worse accuracy than the Hurricane, and it STILL does less raw damage? I'll grant them the clip size difference, but good god, the gun is useless right now.

So the Adas, BPP and Venom have all been nerfed to uselessness? Why? Shouldn't they be at least as good as the SP equivalents to handle the tougher MP enemies? They still loose some of their effectiveness because of the beefed up enemies after all.
Now I'm kind of glad the only new weapons I have so far unlocked are the compressor and Lancer.

Here's the thing. Did Bioware themselves actually forget that Insanity Single Player = Non Collector Bronze Multiplayer ?

Hitscan weapon (suffers from armor DR, can be made to penetrate cover, can score headshots)

Regular Shots (Armor=100%, Barrier=100%, Shields=100%)
AP Shots (Armor=250%, Barrier=100%, Shields=100%)

Small damage per hit .. NEEDS some sort of armor weakening//piercing in play not to be useless vs gold armor DR.

During autofire every 8-th shot is an AP round... AP rounds have *5 charged damage multiplier and on top of that do *2.5 damage vs armor ... And they can score headshots ... BPP's niche is landing AP rounds headshots vs bosses ... *5 shot * HS mod * 2.5 armor = tons of damage ...

Its main problem - same rof, same weight, similar in-accuracy issues as the hurricane (BPP might be a bit more accurate)...

128.1 / 47.75 = 2.6827 ..And hurricane does a few times more damage per (regular) shot ...

BPP only comes near hurricane in terms of DPS vs armor if you can land the AP round boss headshots ... Not impossible with some accuracy & stability bonuses

On paper the weapon can compete with hurricane vs armored bosses if you can land the AP round headshot consistently ....


Some o of my tests show a chain of headshots vs a geth prime (used juggernaut with barrage gear ) so at least on some characters the feat is possible ... Overall hurricane is better and easier to use ..

Which is pretty much the biggest issue I have with the BPP. The Hurricane is supposed to be monster DPS at the cost of accuracy. The BPP has neither. It should most definitely receive an accuracy buff. Maybe a trivial damage buff too, but it really needs the accuracy to distinguish itself from the Hurricane.

Why does everyone keep saying this? The damn thing actually got a rather unprecidented buff in damage coming to MP, and near as I can tell the firing mechanics/trajectory is exatcly the same as in SP

Mine is X and I tried it on the Juggernaut and on the Destroyer. It is not terrible, but PPR and Typhoon, respectively, are far better options.

Nope. It is terribad even on X. It takes 2-3 shots to kill a mook on gold. Falcon/Scorpion are much, much better options.
