Happy birthday to you, but no sadly it will not be out for download today. The DLC is close to being finished, and will then have to be re-submitted for Cert. expect MAYBE a release next Tuesday or Thursday, maybe even later.

That's really not good, actually. People like me won't buy it then. If it came out today, I'd buy it. Two weeks from now I'm going to be too busy with Mass Effect 2 and the rest of my life to care. And then Dragon Age Awakenings... there was a window of opprtunity here, sales-wise, for a piece or Origins DLC and it's closing.
I might be persuaded to buy RtO months from now if I hear great things. But I would have bought it without question had it's release been even slightly better timed.

So basically you won't be buying anymore DLC for Origins?
You are aware Bioware stated they had a 2 year plan for Origins DLC stuff right? After Awakenings comes out I really doubt all of that DLC is going to be purely for the expansion

yes 2 years of 1 hour long DLCs? The Shale DLC was worth it only because it came with the game, but if future DLCs are as short as wardens keep then i wont hold my breathe. Who knows, maybe the third or fourth DLC is the charm? I perfer expansions that extend on the main campaign rather then little extras we wont be seeing in the expansion (like commanding the wardens from vigil keep in the expansion .... where is wardens keep?). Just my opinion. The only thing keeping me interested is the low price of the DLCs.

With the polish put onto the original and the currently available DLC, releasing something that does not meet that bar will do a hell of a lot more damage to sales than any delay would. I work in software, and the scenario of pushing something out to meet a deadline is all too common. I respect BioWare, and Blizzard, because they take their time and produce quality work. Developing software for multiple platforms is complicated and deadlines more often than not are just educated guesses. If you have ever played a unfinished game that was pushed out to meet a deadline, you must know how much more painful it is than a delay. Also, the anticipation is half the fun!
*Cough* KOTOR 2. Son of a **** could have been a great RPG

Expecting a DLC to expand on the main story? Good luck waiting for that to happen. From what I recall, I think one of the devs said adding 'Stone Prisoner' was a nightmare purely because of Shale with all the banter, personal quest stuff that had to be implemented. Even then apart from her 'epilogue text' and coronation conversation, nothing much was expanded upon story wise.
As it seems at the moment any DLC for the Official Campaign is going to be set so it can be played both during the playthrough and in the post-ep save area with the latter going on the assumption that it takes place canon wise before the march to Denerim for the final battle.
Granted RtO is going to offer a bit of an expansion into the story due to how it covers history that the Warden and several party members were a part of. How much that affects the story we do not know yet. I know this though, if you are expecting it to be over 2 hours, keep dreaming. One of the Devs said he did a speed run through it of 30 minutes.

Really? No offense, but not buying it because it's possibly coming out in a couple of weeks seems slightly demanding to me. As has been stated previously, BioWare plans to release DLC for a period of TWO YEARS. Two years of official content for the game, and that's not including user made content, which is now starting to come out. (e.g. See my sig)
I'll be playing Mass Effect 2, certainly. But I'm pretty sure I'll be coming back to Dragon Age after that. There's nothing else particularly exciting coming out for a good while.

Nothing else particularly exciting? Did you mix up the years? I bet 2010 will be the greatest gaming year since...I dunno , 2004? The year just started with a bang,Darksiders,Bayonetta,Dragon Age Expansion ... not to mention possible Half Life 2 Ep3 coverage at the E3 (I'm still hoping for it xD) Sorry for off-topic,but 2010 sounds great as it is.
but on topic
I don't think RTO will be coming out this week, perhaps not even next week. I'm actually expecting it to either come out next month or with awekening

It's not "demanding", it's just a fact. Why buy DLC for a game I'm not playing? And then when I do go back to Dragon Age, it seems I'll be playing the expansion, which won't use RtO. It might be a while before I play RtO, but I'm a pretty big fan: if you don't think BioWare lost RtO sales altogether due to the delay, to more casual consumers, you're nuts. They absolutely did, although I'm sure they know that so I'm sure the delay was for some good reason, which I don't really care about.
All I'm saying is BioWare would've done better for themselves having released this DLC a little quicker. Not a complaint, just an opinion. DLC will get better sales if it's released at a proper time. And, yes, sooner IS better because more people are still playing the game.

Si no rompes las reglas, el gallinero no se mueve. A ver si de alguna forma dan una respuesta a toda la gente que espera y que pago el juego. Y al toro se lo toma por los cuernos.
