Nice to see you have the attention span of someone who has no attention span.

On topic, that is EXACLTY how I spec'd mine! Nice to see I was on the right track? I'm sure there are others that prefer dark channel at a higher rank, but, uh, I like this way better!

White Rider was right, palmof40sorrow: when I opened the topic, the automatic format of BSN created a monster of wall text, with no space at all between paragraphs.

On topic, I don't believe this is the right track: it's just the most efficent build I perfected, after some trial and error.
And I love it too.

Overrated...

Don't get me wrong he's my fave character right now. But his explosions don't do a lot of damage, yeah he can trigger 4 at a time for himself, but so can the Human Adept and the phoenix a much higher damage output.

As far as dark sphere goes, detonation is good but using it as a primer and a being able to use other powers with no cooldowns is better.

But what kills me about him again is his weak detonations, i build characters to stand alone and his weak detonations don't help. But still he's a beast, he's like an infiltrator without the cloak.

I love him and everytime i use him i end up second or better, but he's not a top 3 biotic

You're severely underrating his DOT from sphere and DC. Also, 2300+ across a large radius to 3000 dmg is not a large damage explosion?

OP looks like good advice.

Only thing I'd add is that once you have a Collector SMG up to a decent level (5+), it really becomes the best weapon for the kit (although others do work). You can run a caster build with the collector SMG and get the "best of both worlds" experience the Drell Adept enjoys, thanks to the 10% damage bonus it gets with Collector/Prothean weapons.

Oh, also important to note: You can keep moving while casting Dark Sphere. It's not like a whole bunch of other powers that set their trajectory as soon as you hit the button, you can keep adjusting your position and your aim as the animation plays out. It helps, a lot. It also works with right-hand advantage, though you can't hug the wall quite so tightly.

Thank you for your report Evankester, which keep this topic interesting.
Again, I found the collector SMG (I've it at X;)) lacking something in the clip department, meaning you can't use it costantly while in cooldown (Very bad, because you became pretty useless when you can't shoot and use your powers at the same time). This and to make the SMG shine on the Awakened Collector you need to sacrifice a bonus in biotic power, one of the stronger points of the Awakened Collector.
For this reasons, I currently prefer a Locust: with its negligible recharge time, I can shoot more constantly than a Collector SMG.

On the DS I concur: it is beyond a doubt its saving grace, meaning you can summon it while in soft cover and expose yourself to incoming fire just the minimum necessary.

Ok, last tip for now: after a shopping fever, the new punisher (Mine is IX now) work way better than the Locust, IMO, DPS and suppression fire wise, while keeping the cooldown low.
Mind the recoil of the lower barrel, slap power magnifier and high caliber barrel and go to town.

how does this build fare on platinum?
My build initially was similar. I then promoted and am currently trying to use a weapon based one.....but the only collector weapon i have thats high is a collector sniper rifle 7. The smg alot lower.

I'm consistenly topping the scoreboard, digging more in ops packs than medi- gels: a good squad with one tanky characters and other biotics in the team is just the cherry on top, but it isn't mandatory. It's just a way to reduce the frustrations of your first attempts on Plat with him.
:innocent:

And now that I've unlocked everything of the Reckoning stuff at X, I can say with glee that the only weapon I need with the Awakened Collector is the Lancer X, with extended mag, extended barrel and inc ammo for explosions.
With 180% bonus in cooldown (instead of 200%) and a biotic oriented build, the synergy is just perfect: moving down bosses with powers and mooks with the lancer is TRUE POWER.
Ultimately, IMO, the PPR is just too heavy to use it effectively with this build.
