I'd say the combo TC+RM+Snap Freeze is the problem.
Snap Freeze is just a too good power for this kit, they should have given her Cryo Blast.

I don't spec snap freeze. It'll only slow down my damage output

Wow, you are serious. How does a power that does damage and weaken armor slow your damage output?

The problem is that, like all Infiltrators, the balance of Tactical Cloak makes this class overpowered. Many Infiltrators play with Shotguns, which requires a playstyle that puts you in harms way, and finally we have a glass specifically geared towards that playstyle.

Repair Matrix is just another facet that increases survivability. There's no big difference between taking 2000 pts of damage, going down, then getting back up, compared with being able to tank the same 2000 pts of damage and not go down in the first place.

  • Krogan Warlod has massive health and can regenerate, which doesn't consume anything, and could withstand that 2000 pts of damage and not go down at all. Overpowered?
  • Vorcha have bloodlust which can heal a crazy amount of damage in a fraction of time, making it possible to survive the same 2000 pts of damage and not go down. Overpowered?
  • Krogan & Turians can spec to higher shields & health, making them survive that same 2000 pts of damage. Overpowered?
  • Juggernaut can survive an INSANE amount of damage and repair it's shields without the cost of any powers or consumables. Overpowered?
  • Turian Soldier & Infiltrator can use stim packs, instantly repairing AND boosting their shields, shrugging off 2000 pts of damage. Overpowered?
  • Vanguards can charge and get back to full barriers, even when near the point of death. Overpowered?
Certain classes that have Energy Drain--a free non-consumable ability--can instantly repair their shields, and gain damage reduction in the process, and not go down. Overpowered?
Volus characters can shield boost (everyone), restoring shields, getting an insane damage reduction, and not go down. Overpowered????????

The point is that Repair Matrix isn't a crutch, just like any other power or ability that increases survivability isn't a crutch. It's just another way of maximizing the amount of damage you can sustain without technically dying (being forced to get revived or use a consumable). The bottom line is that the same 2000 pts of damage that would kill the AIU. It's all about being able to take a certain amount of damage and NOT die, which is an ability shared by nearly 1/4 of the characters in the game.

What pisses people off is the illusion of a self-revive, being that the AIU player is "reckless," "crappy" for going down in the first place, and "using a crutch".....well then every Vanguard, Krogan, Krolord, Vorcha, Turians, Sally Engineer, Sally Infiltrator, Paladin, N7 Shadow, ]Volus, Fury, Asari Sentinel, Geth w/ Turret, Juggernaut, and other other classes with an ability to restore health/shields/barriers is also "using a crutch."

I like this Volus! He understands!

It's not Tactical Cloak or Repair Matrix that makes the AIU overpowered.

It's having both of them at the same time.

Though as long as she's not being overused it's not much of a problem.

Agree. I think it's too soon to say if she is a problem, we will only know if in the next few weeks she keep constantly showing up on every lobby, often with 2 or 3 in the same lobby.

RM still has its issues. You actually have to have it on in order to self-revive, which means a ton of running to ammo boxes or popping ammo packs if you want to have it on all the time, even with grenade capacity gear. Plus you can still be killed by getting stunlocked to death or instakilled immediately (yes, those issues are still there) after getting revived by it, so you never have the chance to turn it back on again. Not to mention the fact that RM suffers from the same lag problems as ops packs and stims do (activating after you're already dead). It's not the instant win button you might think it is.

If you've played with RM then you know that it isn't fullproof. There's about a 5-10% that it won't work even when its been activated. Good chances for a revive but when that odd one comes, it could cost you the game (lost a few plats this way).

She's fine. Although I've been seeing hella AUIs with Reegars. It might become problematic in the long run for diversity's sake. But then again, Biower did nothing to change the popularity of the Ghost or GI, instead making their respective counterparts weaker.

Expect a Snap Freeze nerf and the rage of the Paladin users. Seems about right considering Biower's history in nerfing.

Also, Repair Matrix rarely revives you off-host.

I would say the most practical nerf to repair matrix would be to cut its duration by half or so. I mean it seems like it lasts forever at this point. They're obviously not going to get rid of the power or change its basic mechanics, so this seems like a good compromise to me. Thoughts?

RM makes her faster than a drell, gives her fortification, gives her bloodlust (shield version), and allows her to revive herself. Combined with great damage output, best dodge in game, some of the best melee animations in game, and snap freeze for debuff along with tac cloak built for shotties... why does she have so many bonuses and so few disadvantages.

As another thread pointed out, the AIU's massive damage output is heavily because the game favors shotguns and close range combat. Let's not forget that

Technically, it'd be able to stop the Reaper invasion all by itself as long as it was supplied with grenades.

I'd say her biggest problem is her absurd speed. There are several kits that are generally only put out of action by being sync killed, but with the AIU, she's so insanely fast she can get away from any enemies trying to sync kill her. That's the biggest problem. Safety is only a couple flips away. (also, since she's so fast, she can easily keep herself supplied with more grenades)

Cloak is not the problem, again, the problem is not the damage output, that's just fine.

The problem is that you can have 46 medigel without visit a single ammo box, the instant revive, speed bonus and damage reduction are the real problem, not cloak.

I rarely go down with her. I use the free revive as a just in case thing and mainly take advantage of the shield repairing of it. I see it as 46 spec ops packs and not 46 medi gels.
