Same issue here, PC. I think I opened about 8 or 9, I assumed I was supposed to get a reckoning character for the weekend op, then figured something must be wrong.

Same for me.  Thought maybe it keeps going until I get my new character.

Can anyone confirm they got one of the new reckoning ultra rare weapons? I noticed i "only" got old ones.

Everyone has opened the "gift packs" today right? I wonder if it's a bug with the gift packs and commendation packs.

what i got for the gift pack was the promotional items.... never did get a reckoning gear. And also im missing a commendation pack after completion of this weeks operation. its a bug for sure. hope i dont get ban hammered X(

This also happens on ps3 i took a look at the store and saw a free pack with the description saying a gift from mass effect or something like that ( i thought it was for having mass effect since it came out or something like that) after opening an stupid amount of them i realised something was wrong and i came to the forums to what was going on and saw this thread. I guess i shouldn't open any more of them and send a pm to Bryan Johnson and pray that i don't get banhammer'd. 


Edit: also i only got promotional weapons and consumables no reckoning stuff.

Yes, I DLed Reckoning late last night and first logged into and accessed the ME3MP screen moments before I created the thread.

Yeah, I was looking forward to trying out the new classes and kits as well as completing the weekend challenge, but I've decided to wait for this issue to be cleared up before I begin, risk other bugs, account problems, etc.

I have experienced the same issue. I opended a few packs until I noticed there has got to be something wrong about it.

How do they know I didn't do this by intention?

Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Yeah, I'm having the same issue too, I opened around 5 or 6, then stopped before I risk myself for getting banned.

Well, at first I thought it was just a few free packs as a way of saying "thanks for participating in ME3MP", so that's why I went ahead and opened a few of them.

Since several of us have encountered this and mentioned it here, and I think if you PM them your Gamertag / Origin ID and let them know it was an honest mistake to open more than you were supposed to, they'd understand.

Hopefully they can isolate affected accounts (anyone that took more than 1 gift pack) and retreive the affected gear.

Or they could just correct the shop and chalk it up as internal mistake.

Swinging the ban hammer over this would be highly inappropiate imho.

I'm pretty sure the gift pack was supposed to contain one of the reckoning characters in order to make the operation feasible for people who didn't have 10 million credits lying around before the DLC launched. I'd wager that the game bugs out and grants another gift pack if it detects that you weren't warded one yet.

I went in and out of the store this morning (xbox) and opened a ton of them. I wasn't sure WTF happened, thought you guys noticed it was my birthday this week and felt bad I hadn't gotten an N7 Shadow in the last 900 PSPs. I'm not sure who I'm supposed to PM but I presume someone is looking into this already. I don't think I used any of the consumables so if you have logs it should be pretty easy to figure out the delta from however many I was supposed to get vs. not. Or, you could just leave me with upgrades and consumables and I promise not to tell anyone, or ever say anything bad about any of you behind your backs again.

But i think it's impossible that they ban BEFORE an official post that say that it's a bug

Personally I think any bans that would come as a result of this would be extremely wrong. It was Bioware's own mistake. Just roll back my account to where it was this morning or something. Someone told me that it was a way for new players to get caught up on commendation gear. I only found out it was a glitch by checking online. I'm a pretty new player and I have been really enjoying the multiplayer (wish I had gotten into it sooner...) and would be pretty disappointed to receive a ban over this

Exactly. It's the same for example when you found a game on steam with 99% off instead of 66% (happened to The Witcher thimes ago) and you buy it. Obvisiouly they dont ban you or take more money. It's their fault, it's happened and "amen" (cit.)

Yeah, at first I figured it was a promotional thing for the new DLC that allowed us to mop up the old weapons we didn't have yet and allow everyone to start the DLC somewhat equally (after all, ME3 development is pretty much over soon).

I don't think they'll start banhammering people over this, especially since we reported it on the forums and PM'd a dev - I believe we posted our threads at the exact same time pretty much?

Although they might be slightly less tolerant towards people who start doing this now that a dev has confirmed it's a bug.
