Lots of Gift Packs?

Even if I accept your definition of "useless" as correct (which I don't) having a maxed Eagle guarantees you won't ever get it again in future weekend events, thus increasing your chances for a gun you don't find quite as useless. So you have to admit the packs were useful, if only indirectly.

Won't lie. Not happy about this at all. As usual, the legitimate players get shafted for not taking advantage of a bug whilst everyone else runs along all happy as larry. One? Sure. Four? That's a month of weekend events that not a single one of us legitimate players can get back.
Jealous? A little, yeah. Frustrated? Most definitely.
I understand your frustration, and am actually quite surprised BW is seemingly letting us keep the Promo Weapons we got in the Gift Packs, but up until today's pack glitch, I did all the operations and earned my Promotional weapons legitimately as well, so while there were likely a few people that abused the bug, not all of us did, and we stopped and reported to BW of the problem as soon as we noticed it was likely an issue.
If BW were to undo everyone's glitched Promo Upgrades or offer more free ones to everyone else, definitely wouldn't have a problem with it (not that I'm complaining about the multiple gifts though

All said I don't use the promo weapons much except the Crusader, and I'm not a good enough player that the difference between a 7 and an X is going to matter much
I can see a rollback being fair to those whom it seems to really matter to. Personally I don't care much one way or the other as it seems a victimless issue, aside from jealousy or frustration for those who didn't benefit. I've bought crap tons of PSP during the week and maxed out about every weapon I don't use, and still rock a Harrier I. But I don't come on the forums and **** about it...I just play more, and buy more, during the week. /shrug

But yeah take the weapons if that makes those people happy who didn't get the extra. I don't mind losing them, I'll just re-earn them each weekend as I have been.

Yup, +1
Now imagine those 7 "useless" packs appearing not in 10 minutes, but 7 weeks time.

Exactly. This jealousy and anger versus other players it's a bit disconcerting

they honestly didn't know. i can see rolling back anyone who did it 5 times or more, but these guys/gals should be rewarded for coming forward and saying something.
About me the main question isnt the rollin back (or the reward for the onest that have reported this bug), but the decision to punish random people without any real proof of an unfair behavior, only suspects

So I really commend to set it back. I had a lot of fun playing the MP in the last 12 months and its feels unfair owning this weapons without doing anything for it.

Or, you know, just saving up and trying your luck with Premium Spectre Packs, from which I obtained about a dozen levels of my N7 weapons, plus the 24 Commendation packs I redeemed before (I missed 2 of the first challenge rewards for unrelated reasons).
Anyway, if you find my situation unfair to you (isn't this a co-op game, anyway?), you're welcome to ask BioWare to roll me back.
And be assured I will still revive you if we ever happen play to together.

You have unawares "used" a bug (but before the official communication you don know it was a bug of course) in a game, and it's looks like you have stolen their bike, and so they ask insistently for a punishment

I won't name any names, but I saw one person in this topic who had completed three total weekend operations (with Impact being one of them), yet had 19 promotional weapons. I mean... come on. As of Impact, there is a possibility of 34 legit promotional weapons (33 from weekend events, 1 extra if you had a maxed manifest on N7 day), so to have people getting such huge amounts of weapons in one weekend is obviously a problem. Not an issue for anyone to be banned over, but something clearly needs to be done.

Honestly, I didn't spend 300 hours on the game just to get banned afterwards.

Only your pg return to lvl 1, or you lost all your items/weapons?

Look at the Promotional weapons:

Now that would be the definition of abusing the glitch, and should probably have their weapons rolled back. Given that it's very hard to earn promo weapons normally, and they just get them all at once.
However I don't blame them for taking advantage of it, as every time they opened each pack, the description read something along the lines of "A Free Gift from Bioware", so I can understand why they wouldn't turn it down if it's supposedly free.

Not even 10 hours playtime, but all items from common to rare maxed. Did he invest a lot of real money, or is he some kind of cheater?

Seems like money. One challenge done, one promo weapon. Mostly played on Bronze - if they were cheating to get these credits it'd be must faster to do on higher difficulties. That's like a couple thousand dollars though.

First, technically not all uncommons and rares are maxed.
By my count s/he has unlocked total of 720 rare and ultra rare cards.
624 rares = 192 characters, 250 weapons, 77 weapon mods, 105 gear
96 ultra-rares = 12 characters, 84 weapons
----
720
If you allow for 3 rare/UR slots per Pspec pack, that is a minimum of 240 packs. That's 23.76 million credits or 57600 MS points. At 80 per dollar, that's $720 minimum. But getting 96 ultra rares in 240 packs would be extremely unlikely, so obviously it would have been a pretty expensive endeavor.
Considering the player is on PC... and that files can be altered... hmm.
