I tried it today with my Quarian Marksman, against Geth and Cerberus, one with full pistol weapon damage equipment and the other with headshot damage equipment. And I hated every second of both matches. It only one shots unshielded minions, but then you have to fire 2 to 4 rounds against the rest, and Phantoms are a nightmare to kill on host. It runs out of ammo hella fast, and body shots are out of the question. I took a Blood Pack Punisher X as a side-arm and past wave 4 it's what I used instead.

I wish I took a Paladin, a Scorpion, an Eagle, an Acolyte or an Executioner instead. This gun is definitely not the best weapon in the game, let alone the best pistol. It can one-shot unshielded minions, but other pistols can already do that while being extremely more versatile against bosses and crowds.

My wrist pain does not approve. It's good for a rare gun, and I'd definitely take it over the Carnifex any day, but over any of the other pistols I mentioned above? Hell no.

It's a horrible gun with marksman.

You can't take advantage of the extra ROF, unless you're Jay Hoxtatron, the accuracy bonuses are meaningless and the extra headshot damage is overkill.

I used it last night and wasn't very impressed. It didn't seem very accurate to me, even when firing from cover.

Why? Carnifex does headshots just like this junk heap is supposed to AND it works for body shots, unlike this one.

Harder to aim with your thumbs, and the mechanics of consoles make it so that the aim snaps to the center of mass most of the time. This may be amazingtastic on PC, but on console, I think it's pretty meh.

I just wanted to see if I could one shot shielded troopers, and it turns out I can't when they are things like Pyros, Centurions and the like. I like overkill in general, so I wanted to see how good this thing could get with huge-ass headshot bonuses, given the hype on these boards.

But still, I'd only take this with an Asari or Volus Adept for the easy headshots, but the Executioner is much more satisfying to use in those kits.

I'll try it again for sure, but my initial impressions weren't positive to say the least.

As for the Carnifex thing, it became obsolete months ago. I have a Paladin X, so I have no need for it.

Plenty of powers can get you easy headshots.

Overload.

Energy Drain.

Ballistic/Nightshade Blades.

Biotic charge.

Reave.

Proxy mine.

Arc/Inferno/frag grenades.

Any projectile power. Cryo Blast, Throw, Warp, Submission net, incinerate, singularity ...

I`ve been rather enjoying the new rare pistols much more than most of the new UR`s. The executioner is essentially a pocket widow, and the suppressor is a rather rewarding weapon if you do it right. Still need a back-up for bosses though.

Like I said, it's useless vs bosses. So it's not a great weapon to use against Reapers. Better against Collectors.

It's also great vs those scumbags known as Geth. But I don't play against those cheating mother****ers.

Best weapon in the game but its useless against bosses and not good against two of the 4 enemies?

Use QFI for easy headshots

It's not that surprising. The Executioner does more damage per shot than the Black Widow. Add the headshot mod, the 70% damage bonus from Adrenaline Rush and boom. I think you need a targeting VI as well, can't remember.

It's surprising to me because you cannot bypass the shieldgate using phasic ammo III with it. Not even on a centurion.

With Adrenaline Rush, you can.

It's possible with a Black Widow as well, and it does less damage.

You you can't. And you can't do that with a BW either. You can only do that with a BW on an infiltrator with sniper damage on TC rank 6. Or with a Widow/Javelin.

What you can do though, is cause such a massive amount of damage that even with the shieldgate what bleeds through is enough to kill the bad guy. Which is, apparently, what's happening for the Phantom. But that's quite some damage, hence my surprise
