I've read the arguments about artistic integrity, and they don't hold up.  I bought (with my money) and played the franchise with the understanding that all the choices and hard work would mean something.  I played ME1 & 2 almost a dozen times, whereas I played ME3 3 1/2 times.  Why only 3 1/2?   I figured, "why bother..., everything just turns to sh#t in the end anyway." 

I didn't go to all this trouble so the reapers could be my friends, "oh sorry about the misunderstanding.  let's forget we attempted to annhilate all the alien races and all that, and become synthetic buddies."  uh..I don't think so.

I also couldn't get Sheppard to survive after destroying the reapers without playing multiplayer extensively (I hate MMO's btw), which is BS.  The single player campaign should not be linked to the multiplayer.

After all the similar complaints you guys must have read about, (by this point I must sound like an owl, echoing the endless whining about a depressing ending) I was hoping that Bioware would release an alternative ending DLC.  The movie industry does it for their fans on the dvd releases, so why not Bioware?

It's not anymore.

Those alternate endings were already made in the process of making the movie, not crafted afterwards because fans wanted it. Also, Extended Cut.

Buying the game doesn't entitle you to demand changes from the creator.

P.S. I don't like the endings.

Oh, and just to show I can understand your POV: The week after ME3's release I was advocating paid alternate ending DLC. Unfortunately the general sentiment was that they should completely redo the ending for free, so that kinda went out the window and we got the EC. Now, a year later, it's too late.

Well for one after the EC the single player isn't cinnected to the MP and second alternate endings in movies are very different. In most cases they are created before release. ST Generations is an exception sorta where the movie was finished, test audience hated ending, they rebuilt the set and reshot the ending. Third buying a product does not give you the right to demand they change it to suit you,

people still wondering if bioware will give another ending? amazing that, especially since officially they have said that would never happen so, anyways, happy ending isnt necessary, just one that makes sense.

We can copy things as they do. There is no special abbility to do this

Seriously, the ending was very rushed, and Drew (the main writer) was fired at middle game development.

Out of the story arc, the quality after the first battle scene to the ending (priority earth, non-existant war assets, non-existant choice variables...) and even the main plot is very poor compared to the first two games.

Perhaps you liked it, but think in the quality of the rest of the game, and the quality of the ending.

And of course, think about how many resources Mehem people have to develop the mod. They don't even have a developer tool!!!

Is quite hard to make things from scratch

The three original endings are the only things one need concern themself with. I suppose one could beleive that the sky was green, but that doesn't make it so. MEHEM is very much the same way.

This is a fan creation. It is in the fan creations section. No one said anything about it becoming THE canon ending. I would caution anyone saying this will become the "canon" ending. Bioware has been very gracious in giving us a handwave in creating this mod. I do not want to sour this relationship.

However, in the interest of keeping this thread from turning sour, I would like to note that everyone of us has created a head canon of the ending from the EC or the Original ending. The ending to the game is an open ending. Thus it leads to fan fiction. That is its purpose. Arguing about it and saying one fan fiction is more valid than another is pointless.

I prefer the endings we have now. They're far more polished than some mod.

There will be no sequel.  Therefore, there is no continuity to worry about.  I could "speculate" that the sky will turn green tomorrow.  It will not conflict with future products, or with anyone else's canon.

ninja'd. Okay no one on the official team said it.

Look I don't want to start a fight here. I just wanted to say that arguing over whose head canon has more validity is pointless.

I don't want to sour any relationship our modding team has with Bioware. Bioware's endings are the official endings to the game. They are open endings. What you do with them post ending is your head canon.

MEHEM is available for those of us who want a more visual representation, and it is a possibility. It is a fan creation. It is for PC only.
