I encountered some AIU hate in a gold pug lobby today.

To be fair, I was asked to change my character, from AIU to something else.

I chose to leave the lobby.

I don't like being told what characters I can or cannot play.  But the lobby owner was nice and asked, and I respect (if not understood) their feelings about the character, though I was a bit perturbed.  They really were very civil.

I don't know if anything like this has happened with other characters before, but I guess this is what things have come to.  Silly really, IMHO, as I find the repaire function less reliable than a TGI stim, at least off host. I tend to die a lot with the RF still active, and still end up using up gel.

I really enjoy playing the AIU, and will continue to do so long after the eventual nerf.

I have not sorted out my thoughts completely, but I feel a bit disenchanted with MP, as a result of all the bickering and calling for nerfs, fior everything.  I'll get over it I'm sure.

Yeah XBOX. Just played another game and got kicked, well, I got 1 X then the host quit.

So the AIU hate is spilling into the lobbies now.

I guess it was to be expected. I think it is a good time to get my Lone Wolf challenge done.
Once I get it done I may just not go back to PUGS, and stick to solos and playing with friends.

The whole pugging scene is starting to turn my stomach.
People kicking people from bronze, for having low level charcters.
People kicking mid level characters from silver.
People leeching on Gold & Platinum.
Now EDI hate.

Might be time to take a break from pugging. Play only with friends.

Don't let it get you down (the bickering and calling for nerfs). It has happened on every release so it is business as usual on BSN where all opinions, regardless how ill conceived they are, are shared.

Just ride it out.

I was an AIU in a gold match without and consumables with very bad PuGs. I was the only reason we succeeded.

Same happened to me last night. Expect after one game I was assaulted verbally over the persons mic how I shouldn't be using such an easy mode character and that I have no real skill blahblahblah. The only other situation that I can equate to this would be way back when tactical cloak still had it's base duration of 10 seconds or so.

Also on xbox, if it matters at all what form of douchbaggery comes in.

Lately yes. And with AIU a lot. the HUD is still up but the revive never occurs. Sort of like failure to shadow strike or failure to BC, or PD.  The "HUD is up, mocking me, while I bleed out; if out of gels. I go through a lot of gels b/c people expect EDIBOT to self repair, so they do not come to get you.  Happened to other folks I know. Best we can figure out is that if you are 'off host' the Repair Function becomes iffy.

I also have been getting a lot of lag lately.  I played a game, with some friends, last night.
It looked like one of them spent the time floating in the air. There were three of us in the match, and to the other two players everything looked normal the killfeed was also only registering me and another player, not the one I saw as floating in the sky. 'My Scoreboard only egistered two of us. Though the  other players saw three of us.

TL;DR Lately I have bad lag and the result is I die...a lot

Who cares what random people think?

I know I am going to play her at least 4 more times to get the 10 extractions for the banner.

OP, I can't believe that.  That's extremely silly.  Luckily, I haven't seen anything like this (PS3).  I also enjoy the AIU and will continue to use her.

I was in a similar situation recently.  I won't say they were bad; they weren't.  But I had to solo a bit and I got the objectives done (the thing where you activate 4 things lol - whatever it's called).

There's been other situations (not with this character) where I've gotten kick votes and ended up being the key to extracting lol.

Hm.  I've gone down a few times (enemies from behind), but teammates have always came to get me.

Did they tell you why they didn't want you to play her by chance?
Just saying if some were suing grenade characters maybe they dind't want all their greandes going to someone so they can die 40 times? Not accusing you i'm just curious. I never kick people for layouts i only kick afterwards for in game behavoir (not helping with objectives, rocketing wave 11 after using none all game etc etc

Yes. They said they really really cannot stand that character. It was clear that they would not play with anyone using an AIU. The dislike for the AIU was very very very pronounced.

But they were civil. they invited me to chat and asked me to change my character. If anythiing I was the one that got a bit snarky, when I was told that the host could not stand the AIU, by saying 'I got a fix for that' and leaving the lobby.

I don't tell anyone what charcter to play or not play and I won't have someone tell me what I cannot play.
If you need a particular type of character, to round out the team, and you ask me, I will usually comply.

I just was not in the mood for 'I can't stand that character' noise.

If you are playing with friends they come to get you.  If you are in a PUG and you are out of gel then revives become iiffy. PUGS assume AIU will self repair and delay or not come to get you. If you are out of gels then your only choice is to bleed out.

Would have changed to a kit they approved of then not revived any of them the entire match, while telling them i dont revive characters i dont like
