Does this prove IT?

You know, I debated posting that, then realized I'd be kind of evil if I did. Well, thank you for being evil for me.

And bunk up, guys. You can still interpret it that way if you want. It's fine. This doesn't change anything. The EC and "No changes to the endings" were pretty much the nail in the coffin of official sanctions of IT over literalism. But if you want to read it that way, all those bits and pieces you enjoyed poking at are still there.

And if I ask Chris if IT is fan made, and he says no.. does this counter dict Stan's word's or no?

IT is a theory. And it is made by fans. It's discussion was fan propelled.

Everything else is his opinion.

Masster. Calm down. This really means nothing. :P

It's nice to see that at least one ITer has come back to reality.

*shrug*  I guess.  IT was certainly much cleverer than reality turned out to be.  I guess, at this point, I just want the speculating to be over more than anything.

The "speculating" has long been over. Well, on a bigger scale.

LOL no, they were still under it's effects which is why they blew their brains out.

LOL, missing the point, they recovered their senses long enough to realise what had to be done.

The only case of someone succesfully being cured of indoctrination was Shiala thanks to the Thorian and the latter's been dead for two games.

LOL, no.  Pay attention to the game.  She tells you herself she'll never truly be free of indoctrination.

Tough break son, your "theory" was dead from the start.

It's not my theory.  Son.

Since when were police rich in fossil fuels? I thought it was just blood, flesh, and copious amounts of cholesterol.

At least now we can all move on and put this utterly pointless guessing game to a grinding halt.

Thank god.

What they did with the IT is despicable. Even if the EC made it clear that the IT was no longer a valid option, they didn't have the right to use it as distraction, while the bsn was burning, and feed the IT supporters with their "IT is a valid interpretation".
And then wiping them out from the forum and censoring any thread related, as soon as they didn't see any use for it anymore.

Now that the last DLC is about to come, they offically deny it through the voice of a moderator.

I really have no words.

But once the Reapers are GONE, we'll just have to reverse brainwash Shiala.

Coming to grips with reality is better than deluding yourself in a fantasy, clennon. You will be better for this.

The only hallucinating being done was by the people who thought the ending was some grand, indoctrination-breaking scheme.

I 100% agree here. They just should have flat out said it wasn't true but instead they used their usual "Oh yeah! That's another valid interpretation!" nonsense.

I'm so annoyed that I have more questions about the ending of the damn trilogy than at the end of Mass Effect 1 or 2.. shouldn't the endings of those games have more burning questions than the end of the actual trilogy, where things are supposed to come full circle?

I absolutely HATE this "interpretation" ending.

Well, headcannon is fine, when you keep it to yourself - but stating it as fact, was the problem.  "Look at all the evidence"  Yes, look at all the gaming budget limitations, amazing.  "Re-used skins!"

I like IT, but I knew it was never going to be more than fanfiction or the indivduals headcannon, or how they personally interept the ending(s).

I actually don't see what the fuss is about. Did anybody really think that IT wasn't a fan creation anymore?

Destroy is still the best ending, though. If Bioware wants me to only to pick low-hanging fruit, then I'll pick the lowest hanging fruit of all: Shep lives. All this time I spent philosophizing about the endings was a waste of time. I was obviously meant to turn my brain off and enjoy the pretty colors. Ah well. The truth is bland and disappointing, but at least it's the truth.

I find that a very odd thing for Stan to say, considering I recall some prominent community liaisons spent a fair bit of time saying that IT was as valid an interpretation as any other. I don't think there was ever any debate about it being anything other than a fan theory, but Stan's wording suggests that he may not have been entirely aware of what his co-workers were saying on the subject.

I don't think the problem was ever really the interpretation.

It was more the way the people who subscribed to it comported themselves on the forums. It's not fair to generalize, but I don't think they ever really did themselves much favor in the way they chose to express their beliefs and handle opposition.
