DA:A speculation; the companion(s) that won't die

You can choose not to take Dog, Sten, Shale (and DLC anyway), Zevran, Loghaine, Leliana (not sure about this). Under some circumstances you get to or are forced to fight and kill Wynne, Morrigan (not sure), Leliana (not sure). And Loghaine/Alistair may die at the end depending on your choice.
I think Oghren is the only one that is with you at the end of the game no matter what, meaning that he is the only one that you can't get permanently rid of, which would be further confirmation that he is the companion in DA:A.
And yes, the trailer also has Alistair coming back, but I am hoping there will be alternatives for the other endings and that he is not the character coming back.

Ah, true, poorly worded on my part. Still, is there any way to get a conflict with him and be forced to fight him?
none that i know about but maybe he saves that for the expansion?

Is he? I've watched the trailer about 10 times now and I've yet to see him. I've seen the back of the head of a dwarf that had red hair, but how does being a dwarf with red hair make that Oghren?

My book says if his approval is low enough and you torpedo him and Felsi he'll pick a fight with you in which you can bully him into staying, ask him to leave or actually fight him in which case you can kill him, but I've never personally done it. I mean after Branka he needs some non-crazy lovin'.
Anyone done this?
That would mean that every companion is killable (assuming my everything in my first post is correct), meaning some players are going to have a nasty surprise with the Awakening.
PC: "Wait, what are you doing here, I killed you?"
Character X in Sandal voice: "Awakening!"
Alistair: Nods.

well i have not seen that many dwarves with the same teint of red hair as oghren so it might be him ... which does not necessarily mean that he will be in it or not because that is just speculation untill it is acknowledged by a developer or an associate.
it might just be a case of partial image recycling to save some costs or it is just a look alike from the back. today i swore i saw leliana in the group of assassin from zevran for example while i am certain she was sitting at my camp ... either that or she has now become an undead in my party

That's weird. Whenever I go to the Anvil of the Void he's forced into my party.
Yeah, I think it's a glitch. I've played through the Anvil part three times now. And he'll show up as a voice, but nothing else and he never enters my party. Then I'll hear from him again during the end sequences of the game. But I've never seen him. Fine by me though.

While this is true, I also didn't see enough dwarves in Orzammar to put together a small troop let alone an army, so I'm guessing I didn't see every dwarf that lived there either. so

Which old favourite? Who knows.
Edit: You could make a list of 'old favourites' who cannot ever be killed. Of course, that leaves the definition of favourite up for grabs.

like shale coulda found another way to get into a bigger golem metal thingie
or morrigan could be acrossed half way with your child
or zevran who got himself in same **** and has to kill you again though he doesnt know it is you till he faces you
alister and the doggie ofc should be in the group i meen comon dog is imprintet to you and alister is the other warden / king thought maybe now that he is king you cant play with him as companion mmm lot of things i can think up though i think that koghren/alister/dog/morrigan have biggest change of regrouping with yah

1. What if you never got the dog?
2. What if you got Loghain and Alistair left or was executed?
Although this brings up something I've been thinking about. They say a returning old favorite, let's assume it's one of the companions from Origins. Let's say you killed him/her in your play through and imported that character to Awakenings. That previous companion would then simply be unavailable in Awakenings because you already got rid of them so then you're left with just the 5 new ones. Maybe?

So whomever the "old favorite" is, they are set in stone I'm sure. As some have stated it may not even be a party member, but in fact someone with whom the part interacted with on a regular basis.
The dog would be the easiest/cheapest returning party member, I mean there is nothing to pay out for voice over, lol. Morrigan is doubtful as she says you will never see her again, and I doubt Claudia Black comes cheap. Zevran is possible and I don't think Tim Russ has a lot going on now a days considering I haven't seen Tuvok in too much lately. Leliana I think is the most likely given that out of all the characters besides Alastair her and Morrigan recieve the most attention from the communities.

Well honestly you could make a case for any of the characters, but given the budget for expansions I doubt bioware could afford to play out the scenarios for every character, I mean that's a lot paid out just for the voice overs.

-snip-
This was my reasoning as well, and if there were companions that couldn't be killed, they would be the prime choice. But that seems to be out the window, so it is back to stalking the voice actors, seeing who goes to the Bioware studio.

Oghren has a unique hairstyle. There's also a full profile of him at 1:10 in the trailer so you can also see his unique beard. It's Oghren.

No he doesn't, not really, and it's a short cut in the back sort of hairstyle, you can't reasonably draw a conclusion on the rest of the hairstyle from a 0.5 second shot of the back of someones head.
