I've been wondering about how strongholds work for multiclass characters.
Let's say I play a fighter/cleric and do the fighter stronghold first, but refuse Nalias offer, can I still get the cleric stronghold or am I stuck with the stronghold I do first?

I googled a fair bit and some people claimed you can only get the stronghold you do first, while others claimed, if you do stronghold x first but refuse you can still get stronghold y, as long as your eligible to obtain either of them in the first place.
I hope this hasn't been covered to death yet. :?

In my experience you get both and they are independent of each other. The only problem I can think of is if you get hung up with comflecting time limits, but that is a pretty low probability.

If you don't have one of the stronghold tweaks installed from a mod then you can only get one of them (although there was a bug in vanilla that allowed multi / dual class fighters to get both the fighter and one other if you followed specific dialogue choices).

Assuming you haven't got a tweak then you can only get the cleric stronghold if you haven't already accepted the fighter one - it doesn't matter if you've been offered it as long as you refuse it.

One of the mods gives you choices when you install it.

You can leave the situation as it is, enable your character to do all of the strongholds which his class allows. i.e. If you are a fighter/mage/cleric you could do all three strongholds.

The final option is to enable your character to get every stronghold in the game.

I usually choose the second option, myself.
