This is for the ones that have been playing since its release. remeber back in the days when the Geth Plasma Shotgun was considered the most OP weapon in the game? BSN wanted it nerfed (OMG it homes in on enemies and 1 shots everything) Now i never see anyone using one. Its always the pirhanna, harrier, etc. What happened to the old time weapons? speed runs were always claymore GIs, Platinum dind't exist, biotics were better then tech by far, incinerate was useless as was concussive shots, we had no gear bonus, no level 4 consumables, no amazing characters (novaguard and AV were ebast mode) and vanguards were a no-no cause you'd vanguard glitch of the map. FBWGG was the farming setup. make sure to have 1 infiltrator (didn't need duration, the old infiltrator had duration and damage bonus) for the 4 devices and a salarian Engineer with decoy. Pyro's could be grabbed. No dragoons, no bombers, no collectors. Bosses took full headshot damage. No pizza or escort. This is for the good old days of MP. Eveyrone have a drink

With that said How about next week on the 1 year anniversary of the game, we run some nostaglia games. only original characters and weapons. no gear allowed. no platinum, no collectors, no Changed (white and glacier) or DLC maps. and No characters that can make tech explosions. What do you say BSN?

Claymore Salarian Infiltrator time?  Sounds like fun!  Double points if it's Firebase Ghost or Firebase White vs Cerberus.

I can still vastly outscore the average PUG with a Claymore/Valiant wielding SI. He's still quite the wrecking ball.

Platinum is now easier than gold used to be. Some of it is an increase in skills, weapon level, and experience, but a lot of it is the ridiculously overpowered kits and weapons Bioware tends to release every dlc then buffing everything else to compensate.

Pshaw, back in the OLD old days there was no Valiant!  And in the slightly-less-old days, only 1/4 or 2/4 people had it.

Yeah! Good Ol days when my MHE with a Scorpion used to wreck all factions and outscore everything. Now? The scorpion gets a HB and PA. I have Omni-cap & lvl IV power amps. I wreck everything. I love power creep. Muahahahahahaha!!!

I have enjoyed the game equally from day one to now but the salarian infiltrator was my first rare character and I may use him for the one year anniversary.

I too am happy with the power creep. I like it better when the Plat game are more like social hour with friends instead of hunkering down, being scared for your life, with a bunch of strangers who don't use rockets/gels because they are so rare/valuable. I also like using the power creep-ish items on the old school classes... ran a Novaguard last night on Cerberus/Vancouver/Plat with an Acolyte + HVB/Power Amp, Incendiary IV, Power Amp IV, Geth Scanner, Pistol Rail III.

I still run the SI with a Claymore... often.

I do love the varierty we are given. people who only use 1 kit all the time are missing out on alot of really fun things IMO

A lot of us put in lonnnng hours during the demo.  And even after the first challenge, you only had a 1/4 chance of having the Valiant.

I still remember when the aa was the queen of the boom boom. You'd not go against cerberus on gold without one. Phantoms now are the easy part of the day.

Anyone else miss the olden days where Phantoms would get stuck in the ceiling, and just watch you like some sort of...

...ceiling phantom?

Am I hipster if I say I played in the demo?

When Stasis was considered the best power in the game because only Cerberus was in, and nobody knew how to fight Phantoms otherwise?

When SI with Black Widow were the epitome of overpoweredness?

When Veteran Packs were the highest you could get?

When everybody was so less skilled merely extracting on Silver was cause for celebration?

When no Dragoons meant camping was extremey effective?

Ah, ye goode olden dayes.

Good old days indeed, but the game has a lot more depth to it now. Honestly, it is possibly the most evolved non-MOBA multiplayer game in a long time. I've never had a game that has changed so much since release in terms of mechanics, balance, and "free" content packs. Not to mention new powers that don't exist in the single player, an entirely new enemy faction to the game (but not the series), and maps that are more than just re-used assets... although those maps are probably put together from map/level sections for SP that got scrapped.

I played in the demo days, but this game has become something mature, with depth and strategy, a dedicated community, and tons of fun, even with its flaws. I'm not saying I don't miss the way some things were (sabotage for instance, along with Glacier's extra room-- it was already the smallest map, and grabable pyros), but I like where this game has gone.

I can't wait for BioWare's next venture into multiplayer, because frankly, it ended up being a lot more engaging than the singleplayer.
