I'd rather have Avina as the "villain." Already have a story lined up and everything.B)

Cool. Do tell.

(I wrote those lines and then wondered whether they may sound sarcastic. They are not. Please, do tell!)

Well, I toyed with the idea that, instead of trying to kill Shepard, someone might want to actually keep him out of harm's way. It would involve luring him to the Citadel where he'd be detained over some trumped up charge (probably colluding with Cerberus in some form or another), then his shuttle would blow up while he was being transferred to a detention facility. Naturally, someone pulled off a bait-and-switch with the shuttle and Shepard is very much still alive but held in a secret facility on the Citadel where Avina would reveal herself as the one who pulled all the strings to get Shepard there. Why? Over the course of the trilogy Avina evolved (on its own or with help) to the point of becoming self-aware and realised that, despite Shepard's warnings, the Reapers would win the war. As a result, she prepared for that outcome by creating a facility that would save a select amount of people in stasis pods so they could start anew during the next cycle (sort of what the Protheans tried to do with Javik). Shepard was the obvious candidate to save due to his resilience, his experience fighting Reaper forces, and also because of the Prothean Cipher.

I was also toying with the idea that this "ark" would be human exclusive, since Avina had determined that humanity was the group that showed most potential in creating a civilization that could ultimately defeat the Reapers. In order to persuade Shepard she would reveal some truths, like how the Council had known about the Reapers even before Shepard had had his vision in ME1, how they had instructed Saren to find a way to stop them, etc.

Just some random thoughts, you know.

That's, like, y'know, really quite good.

Of course I'm not sure how it would fit into the ME3 storyline as it currently stands. Shepard may want to fight against the idea of personally being forced into a stasis pod but he/she would surely see the sense in allowing others to choose to do so. Would Avina object (violently) to this?

And of course, any choice Shepard might have about doing so his/herself would be removed by the need to finish Priority: London etc afterwards.

I do like the idea a lot though.

I've got it.

It's Vidinos - the turian from Pinnacle Station. He's still fuming from Shepard taking down all of his top scores on the combat simulator, and he wants his revenge!

Be honest, did you actually remember his name? You looked it up didn't you? If not, I now have respect for more than just that avatar!

Hell no. I had to look it up. I remembered him being butthurt over not being a hardcore, swagged-out thug like Shepard, though.

Yeah, since the dlc supposedly has that Armax combat arena he may turn up there for one last hissy fit. That would make me feel all warm and nostalgic and stuff.

One problem he's a war asset.

Turian Spec Ops Team
Guard Captain Vidinos heads a special operatives team that distinguished itself in the War on Taetrus, tracking down turian separatist leaders opposing the Hierarchy. During the war, the separatists rammed a ship travelling at FTL-speeds into the heart of Taetrus's capital. Vidinos's unit experienced their worst fighting in the Diluvian Wildlands, unwelcoming marshes with a population deeply sympathetic to the separatist cause.

As anyone can see, of late there have been a substantial number of posts about the possible villan of the citadel dlc. They range from the desperate (harbinger?) to the ridiculous (the leviathans?) to the utterly absurd (the Virmire victim?).

I am certain that I won't be alone in thinking this (despite my searches turning up 0 results) but surely the most obvious candidate for villan - if we already know the villan, of course - goes to Bailey.

Of course he may not be the main villan of the piece but did nobody else notice the plot during the citadel coup seemingly screaming at us 'This guy's up to no good!' while flashing a big neon flashing arrow at Bailey's blonde bonce?

He has been shot but is still alive. He gets Shepard into the citadel proper and indicates where the big guy should go. He arrives in the lift after Shepard's confrontation with the VS and claims that Leng and his Phantom entourage have scuttled off without him laying an eye on them.

He has no significant role whatsoever after the coup. He is also the only 'main' (Kelly Chambers aside!) character to inhabit both ME2 and ME3 with no discernable point.

Why might he hate shepard? Unknown, but he does come to power at c-sec after the events of ME and talks an awful lot about the damage done to the citadel during Sovereign's attack. Maybe he lost someone.

Apologies for any grammatical or spelling errors in this post. English IS my first language but I am currently very drunk.

Why though? How much of a threat could he pose that you need ALL returning Squaddies form ME1,ME2,and ME3 to fight them off? I would be less inclined to buy this if he was the villain. That would probably be the dumbest villain ever for a final trilogy send off DLC. I say its about time we get to go toe to toe with TIM.

Yeah, I understand your complaints. I'm not saying that he would be the bestest most villanous villan. I just think that he is one (of the only ones) that makes sense. Perhaps he is simply working for another villan of bestest and most villanous villanality.

It won't be TIM because ... well .... that makes no sense.

The "pleasantly surprised" fom the devs part gets me a little confused. What does it mean?

Will we be like "It's him? Oh, cool. That's neat."
Or will it be a take on pleasant that means Bioware will be pleased as to how surprised we are.
Like "Oh wow! It's that guy? Can't wait to kill him! I'm super excited to do so!"

?

These threads are like those conspiracy threads that were popping up in the lead-up to Omega where people were putting way too much thought into it.

It's porbably going to just be some bloke. Most likely indoctrinated. The achievements speak of Kasumi-style high society escapades so I am hoping we will se a reprise of the awesome South African accent.

Yeah, we haven't really been playing enough into the "High Society" bit. That could be a hint.

It would indeed be ace to have some Hock-tones going on once more.

I'm not sure that Bailey as baddie does require 'too much thought'. however. When you think about it, he IS 'just some bloke' and he may well be indoctrinated. Possibly.

His role within the narrative and where in the narrrative the dlc must take place is what highlights him as being a likely candidate to me.

I am now thinking that the "conspiracy" is that someone makes it to look like there is a conspiracy, and Shepard has to find out that there was no conspiracy.

Either Conrad (who is tired of Shepard merely humoring him and all the rest) or it's the yahg, family of the Shadow Broker (ex).
