Even though I eventually executed Wrex and sabotaged the genophage. I may not value the Krogan as a galactic power, but I do value them as specialized team-members and bullet-sponges

Garrus. He was permanently in my party for all three games for every playthrough. Not because I thought he was the best combat wise, I actually thought he was meh, but because he was my favorite character and naturally I wanted to hear him talk through out the game rather than hear someone else.

I don't know I think Garrus is pretty awesome combat wise. During my Insanity playthrough of ME1 I ran into that stuck to the floor bug when fighting Matriarch Benezia. Both Shep and Liara stuck to floor unable to do anything... and Garrus killed all the geth and Asari Commandos by himself. He's just that awesome.

Edit: I Can never bring myself to bring along the following characters because they never compared to the best.
Kaiden= Never in a million years.
Zaeed= Great voice acting but I am too attached to others.
Vega=Freddy Prince Jr??? I felt this was the most contrived character.
Jacob= I liked talking too him but super Vanilla.

Garrus was extremely helpful in combat and an absolute bro. Javik and Wrex were both immensely useful in combat. Miranda was my LI (and extremely effective in combat) and Thane was always an interesting character. I'd put Legion in there but Bioware scrubbed him to only two missions where he could be your squadmate.

ME2: It was on insanity, and my comp was having overheating problems which would lower my frame rate to a near unplayable state, so I had to go with as many buffs as possible, so, as much as I hate her, Miranda. I guess second would be Garrus.
ME3: Garrus and Tali.

On my Paragon:

• ME1 - Liara and Tali.

• ME2 - Mordin and Tali.

• ME3 - Liara and Tali.

Liara because I just always liked her, liked her commentary and thought she looked neat.

Mordin because I just always liked him, loved his commentary and thought he was neat looking.

Tali instantly because she looked, her racial gear is easily some of the most definitive looking gear in sci-fi for me. She looks awesome. She sounds awesome. She's funny.

The only reason I didn't use the above three, at any point, on my Paragon, was because the story forced me to act otherwise.

My Paragon romanced Liara and saved Kaidan.

On myy Renegade:

• ME1 - Kaidan and Ashley.

• ME2 - Kasumi and Miranda.

• ME3 - James and Ashley.

My Renegade didn't like Aliens (killed the council, made Udina leader, etc) or synthetics (they spaced legion in ME2). Always sided with Humans when they could. Only used Humans unless the plot made them do otherwise. That's why I used the characters I used. I might have almost used Jack, rather than Miranda (I just didn't get anything out of talks with Jacob, he was too Vanilla) but I just didn't like her attitude. ME3 and seeing how she grew actually made me regret that, because what she evolved into in ME3 was exactly what I was looking for in her in ME2.

My Renegade didn't really romance anyone, though they did sleep with with a different Human character every single game.

On my "I don't use Blue-Paragon or Red-Renegade options, even if they're open, and choose whatever I feel like at the moment' playthrough?

• ME1 -  Ashley and Tali.

• ME2 - Mordin and Garrus.

• ME3 - Garrus and Tali.

This character didn't romance anyone . . . but in ME1 we helped Shiala and in ME2 Shiala kissed this version of my Shepard and suggested the possibility of a date/relationship when the whole ME2 deal was done with. That never happened, and, outside of one e-mail in ME3, this Shepard never heard from Shiala again.

Ashley shot Wrex. Then Ashley died.

if i played male shep, tali is romance (i usually play male shep) but if i played femshep, it is garrus. either way, it works

too bad i had to say goodbye last summer with extended cut. oh well, watched citadel on youtube. not buying to not know what happens post ending.
