just saw this myself. friend and i were unfortunately stabbed by phantoms in a gold match. the jugg goes down and didn't bother using a gel.
I've been playing the Jugg a lot since I got it, but if the rest of the team goes down and I get downed early in a wave, I pretty much call it, the Jugg just doesn't have the damage output to clear a full wave or anywhere near the mobility to get away from a pack if you gel after going down in a pack.
Lol what? You could not be more wrong. The Juggernaut is an absolute beast, easily capable of soloing (even an entire game if need be). Just the other day I started a match solo of U/U/G and no one joined, I got Dagger/Cerberus and made it to wave 10 with two missles left and one gel when it gave me an object delivery with the enemy spawn between me and my destination, missiled twice to clear it but they spawned in the same spot and killed me.
And on top of it I was using the wrong build (I've since specced out of Hex shield into a fully healing turret, and at the time of that game I was waiting on a respec card to make that very change). Also I was using an adrenaline module II I believe (Executioner w/ Power Amp and AP mods).
Also I've broken 200,000 points twice in two days with the Jugg (in U/U/G PUGs, in games where there were three other people in the match), so anyone thinking it's okay to score low with this guy is delusional. It's the Volus argument all over again, and the fact remains that you have to kill things to properly cobtribute to your team (in addition to performing supportive tasks), and any Juggernaut that is only acting as a decoy without killing large jumbers of enemies as well is essentially leeching (and, suffice it to say, they're doing it wrong).
And I got a 10 waves survive medal using the Ghost to solo gold and only used 4 missiles and 1 ammo pack.
Jugg has average damage output, but knowing the map (and getting a good map) are a HUGE requirement to solo with it.
Jugg isn't God, you have to find a place in the map that limits the damage you recieve from ranged enemies, otherwise you are in serious trouble, specially with collectors.
Also score in a match means hack ****, there are way too many variables.
Are you Hosting?
Are other players lagging?
Are other players using underpowered builds?
Are you using equipment? are they?
Are other players just down right awful?
Did the other players stay behind you all the time instead of running pass your sorry slow ass to kill everything before you got even close to the enemies?
First things first: TGI solo of Gold means nothing, I got 10 waves survived my first try with him. When playing that game with the Jugg, Dagger/Cerberus was not a combination I was happy about, and without any clear strategy I muddled through as best I could. I tried holding in the upper room, repeatedly getting driven out and into the line of fire. Add to that mess that I had the wrong build, and I was amazed I got as far as I did.
My point had been that if I'd actually bothered to put on a Cyclonic Modulator and make an honest solo attempt (with the correct build and on a map/enemy combination of my choosing), I'd have suceeded without breaking a sweat. And here the person I was responding to in this thread was saying some nonsense about not even being able to solo one wave by himself, which suffice it to say is quite laughable (and pathetic). The only character easier to solo with is the TGI (and maybe AIU).
As for the 200,000 plus scores, yes I was using my best equipment (power amp 4, pistol amp 3, Disruptor 3 and the Geth Scanner), and yes suffice it to say I was playing with scrubs (it was a PUG, who else would they have been?) who declined to use consumables themselves. The reason it's significant is because I PUG a lot and in U/U/G (with three other players in the game) I have never scored over 200,000 before (maybe once as an infiltrator a while back but it was a fluke, I've come close a lot but breaking that 200k mark just doesn't happen for me). So this character is undeniably powerful, and slow as I was (first on Rio, then Glacier) I managed to annihilate everything almost single-handed.
In conclusion, this Juggernaut is absolutely capable not only of soloing, but of dominating the scoreboard when played effectively, and all this talk of people "tanking" with him (and scoring low in the process) is just sad (and more than a little funny).
