Not sure if this is the right spot, but I'm still putting it here so :P

When news of the upcoming expansion came out I automatically started thinking about what character I'd like to play. With that I started thinking about what sort of mods I would like to see done before the expansion.

So my question is what sort of mods would you like to see done?

For me I'd like to see the following:

1) Some more clothing mods mainly for females. Something that's sexy but not just revealing. Like a tight pants/halter top type thing.

2) Earrings, scars and tattoos. Something that not only gives you options for earrings, but scars and tattoos on various parts of the body.

3) Some better scaled weapons, I just think the weapons a little large in comparison to the characters. Also i'd like to see a sword/dagger mod that resembles the weapon from Gladiator.

4) Some more head/face options, there are some great ones out there now, but it seems that most have focused on redoing Morrigan and Leliana so that there is now about 1000 versions of ea. out there. I'd like to see more options for the players.

Obviously these all revolve around the appearance of the character I want to play as for me that's a big part of the game.

What about you all, what would you like to see the mod guys/gals do?

I would already be happy if they fixed the leather armor appearances for females... they're horrid.

For the rest: I'll see what'll come. Having hopes up high makes it easier to have a deep fall and hard crash on the ground...hehe.

lol well to clarify, my hopes aren't that bioware will do all this, but the mod community, and not even hopes persay just things I think would be cool if done before the expansion comes out.

I would like 5 million dollars, and a red sports car, and ...

Oh, what type of MODS would i like?

Well, I'd like the ones I use now to be usable then (Character Respec, Innodil's Pocket Plane, The Winter Forge, DA Mutator, Advanced Tactics).

But new armor and weapon mods would be very welcome. There are some out there already, and the number is growing, but many are just retextures of existing models - what we really need are new models.

And more variations in PC appearance. I don't care so much about companions, but the limits on our appearance as a PC are appalling. For example, very few hairstyles, and those there are (whether vanilla or modded) are frequently unusable. The reason I say this is that I have a particular hatred of clipping. Many of the male and female hairstyles clip - particularly with elves because of the ears. Many of the beards clip into armour. Some of each also clip into the side of the face. And so on.

If someone could get rid of those ghastly neck collars the women wear, I would love them forever, too.

Edit: can you change the title? probably not, but it doesn't mention mods at all

Yeah Susan, most everything I want has to do with PC appearance, I don't think much as been done with that in comparison to the amount of mods out there for the NPC's.

Well, I use the Chargen/Pineappletree/something or other one - a kind of triple pack that gives some more hairstyles, scars, eye colours, and so forth.

But there is the same problem with clipping (it drives me nuts).

And the collars as a cover up? I feel like Lassie.

Sheesh, either use high necklines (you could still bare midriffs, or have cut-outs to expose flesh), or fix the damn meshes (or whatever), or make the 'collar' attractive or cultural or something (eg, Dalish women could have a tattooed pattern there).

More dress-up clothes, armor types (yeah, especially light armors, but massive ones too!) would be great.

From Bioware: a companion who dies a truly gruesome death. Someone who's with you most of the game and then, oh, I don't know, turns into an abomination or something and you have to kill 'em. It kinda sucks that temporary companions are all very obviously temporary, and your other companions have (somewhat) obvious points where they leave. I like that punched in the gut feeling I got from the first time Alistair yelled at me at the Landsmeet, stuff like that. Makes you realize how attached you got to some polygons ^^

I'd love to have a mod that changes the Dalish armor to something that actually looks like deerskin, as the tooltips here on the site assert that armor to be.

Oh, and more variety in weapons.  Seems like there are only a few models of each.  Why Marjolaine's Recurve and Far Song would look exactly alike escapes me.

Yep agree on that 1.  Would love to see a dif variety of armour/clothing for the women.

The women not walk or run like men lmao... Seriously all of my women that I've made all look like their on steroids or something when their either walking or running especially during the cut-scenes... I find it kinda funny but at the same time frustrated. I'm not a man, I wanna be able to sway my hips epecially in front of Alistair for Makers sake lmao... Posted Image

More models. Definitely more models. Armor, weapons, environment, I don't really care, but if there's one thing this game needs, it's more environments.

That's because it's the same rig as the male's.  Makes it a lot easier to do the animation throughout.  if they ever did make a female rig with them swaying their hips I think I'd have to get a "vanilla" mod or some sort so they're not prancing in heavy armor @_@

Well, using the same animation as males would be fine if it would be a decent looking one. Not a hybrid of a gorilla and a cowboy with balls as big as an elephants'.

lol yeah the walking like woman thing would be really nice.

I would definately like to be able to mold the bodies more, I mean you can make a million variations of  a single head type, but still only get 1 body type, lol

The Dalish armor I think is the best light armor for a female character, to me it just looks the best. However, I understand what you mean about texture.

Definately more variety in weapons, that's why I'd really like to see some gladiator style weapons

Bare midriffs and exposed flesh in armor just bugs me. I mean, it's armor. It's supposed to cover you, that's the whole point. I'm totally with you on the inexplicable dog collar, though.

I have no complaints at all about the female movement. I'm very glad that my character moves like a warrior and not one of the women from The Pearl. ;)

ah but it's not nearly as sexy :) lol It's like bracers in D&D I've always been able to associate magic with protecting any short comings such as bare midrifts.

Okay, the three Mods for skin, scars, tatts, hair, eyes etc were: CC Extra Tints and Tones; Chargen Package; Pineappletree's Vibrant Colors. But you need an extra file made by someone else to use them all at once, hehe. My male human magi has Duncan's beard and earring, looks cool.

As for 'realistic' armour. I know why some people feel that way and that's fine by me. But if I'm living in a world where I can put up an invisible shield by magic, shoot fireballs at my enemies, shout and knock them down (how big is my mouth?), then I don't see why my armour can't 'magically' protect me despite have cut outs or a bare midriff or whatever. I don't want to spend 70 hours or so per character looking at armour and a helm. They might as well not have a face or body in that case. Animated suits of armour would do the job (I know, I know, that's an exaggeration, but it illustrates how I feel).

see susan that's why you rock! thanks I'm pretty sure I actually have all those, just not installed, but I don't have the file so they all work at once, hmmmmmm guess I'll be tracking that down in the morning after work Posted Image

As for armor I completely agree with you.

I personally get a huge boost to the immersion of the game if I can make my PC look exactly like I imagine or at least as close as physically possible.

You know, I'm sure if they added a different walk for females someone would make a post about how it is sexism, just saying...

I do wish there where a lot more patterns for cloth dresses. There are more variation for plate than cloth, and it really should be the other way around. I don't need sexier, more revealing garments, but different patterns to create some variety would be nice.

Nope. I'm a feminist. I find it sexist that we're made to walk like men. :P

Not really, it has nothing to do with sexism (in case someone didn't get my joke). But it is awful. It's okay when they're just walking/running. But the moment a weapon is drawn, even my delicate little elven mage looks like she has huge balls between her thighs - and they is gettin' in the way.

It's just - wrong.

Edit: I'm not asking for a prostitute's strut, or even a really sexy sway - just a regular walk and run you could see on a regular person. Watch even a female athlete run - not sexy or provocative, but it does not look like that.

Somebody already mentioned fixing armour on females...so I'm going to ask for cowls or a proper no-helm option in the game's ui. Helms in this game are an Abomination unto Nuggan.

I can't believe I forgot about cloaks!!!!!

Catofnine - I believe there is already a mod out to keep helms hidden. But that does make me want some good options for head gear now :D
