Sorry if this is a silly question, but I just switched over from ME3 on Xbox to ME3 on PC and good god the controls are horrendous.  For some odd reason there is no controller use for ME3 (not sure why) but even if there was I'd prefer keyboard and mouse for the quicker actions.

My problem here is that the space bar does everything, I would think it'd make more sense if Space Bar was the Tactical menu, E was "use" and shift was storm and left control would be cover.  Is there a way to change this?  If there is a mod for this will it get me banned for using it?

Unfortunately you can't split storm and cover into different keys. How ever if you want to use a controller try a programming called Xpadder.

I believe there is a way to split up the functions of the aweome button on PC by editing your coalesced but from what I've heard the key functions are not always reliable.

Also I would recommend rebinding the slots of your quick bar.  Numbers 1-4 are easy enough to reach from WASD but 5-8 are a bit tougher.  Under options there is a setting for key bindings and you can re-map keys there.

They are in fact reliable, but there are a few quirks.

I have "Use" separated from "Sprint / Cover / Roll" on T and Shift respectively.  The only issue is that if I am in a reload animation I cannot simply press T to use, I have to cancel the animation with a different key, or wait for it to finish.  This is only really an issue if you are reloading and need to do a quick revive.
