Poll is here.
Not talking about trashing the endings, just something that expands the rather abrupt nature of the existing endings and maybe gives an option or two for other alternatives, such as a conventional victory, or somesuch.
Basically I'm curious to know whether people would be willing to pay for something like that. It'll never happen, of course, but it's a slow day and I'm bored.
Poll: Would you be willing to pay for post-ending DLC

No.
But regardless, you can't really tweak the existing ones into something really good. After EC, they're pretty much as good as they're gonna be without a complete re-write, something that won't happen.

I'm bored too, so I'll answer your question: No.

No, as long as the Catalyst is involved, I'll always have the same fundamental problem with the ending.

Seriously? No one sells the ending of any product for money. Not to me anyway, so no.
#9

No. I like the endings as they are.

Posté 02 mars 2013 - 01:37
yes - if they manage to make an ending, that is not an insult to the trilogy and does not contain "the thing"

Depends on the hours of content and the price...

I would have 6 months ago, but now I don't really care anymore.

Post end DLC would be an expansion, in my opinion.

No. The EC improved the game, but the only thing that will fix it entirely is a complete rewrite of the endings, which will not happen. I would not pay for a post-ending DLC that would just retcon and try to patch things over. If they removed the Catalyst entirely and sold us a new ending, I might buy it, but that's not going to happen.

Yeah, but it is not going to happen.
It's like asking - would you buy ME4 with Shepard? Yeah, sure. But they're not going to make that game.

The question itself is moot since they have said time and again they won't change the endings. We need to just accept it and if we don't like how it ended, then change our perspective on it. Reduce it to something we are not attached to any longer. Make it irrelevant and still enjoy the story itself until where we find it diverges into what we do not like.
To me, the ending is not even like it's real at this point. If I suffer through priority earth, I don't always go to the starbrat. I'm not even sure I'll play it much in the future. I'll go back to ME1 and probably ME2 but ME3 not as much because the interactions and story just don't do it for me. It's too much like most of the other games out there that are point A to B to C where you just follow it till the end. Sure it has some choices you can make, but they are not so enticing to keep me playing it when at the end it falls flat. At some point I might even trade it in at gamestop. Limiting the RPG and then giving us the whacky ending makes it pretty much like any other game out there. And I trade those games after playing them once because there is no reason to go back.

It would largely depend on what it would be like. I still think the current ending is an irreparable mess as long as things like the star kid, the deus ex machina crucible and the magic spacebeams are involved, but perhaps if whatever comes after is really good, I would be able to ignore some plot holes and focus on other things more. ME2's endgame had several plot holes and errors but I managed to ignore those because the final mission and ending was great (imo).
Perhaps if they managed to do the same with ME3 then yes I'd probably be willing to pay for it. They're offering actual new content after all, it's only fair if they ask money for that. It's what DLC was supposed to be all about.
Needless to say this is a 'what if' answer. We all know perfectly well that this is not going to happen.

No, mainly because the people who were responsible for the ****e endings would be in charge of that as well and they will never make it a good ending and will gripe back at the catalyst endings in one way or another.
I truly hope that people will start voting with their money instead of buying DLC/ doing micro transactions and **** about it afterwards while still playing that utter repettive Multiplayer, I for one have stopped playing it, not so much to make a point because I got disillusioned by Bioware games, I say Bioware and not EA, because I think it is to easy to keep blaming EA for a business practice Bioware is following.
I have said it before and I will say it again:
Bioware, please start from a quality product, do the best you can with it and finish it so that it is a full game for which people gladly pay that $50-70 , then work on a patch to fix bugs, and only then on some DLC which either truly connects with an upcoming sequel, brings some depth to the story or just adds something substancial to a multiplayer
Basically turn a full 180 degrees.
Look at CD Projekt RED and Ubisoft if you don't know what it means to create a good game anymore...

Sure... as long as its a freaking expansion. I don't want to set a precedent that it's okay to make a real ending or withhold the true one to get extra money at a later date. The only reason I got Broken Steel it was because it had plenty of content to fix that one glaring problem in the endings with Fawkes or Charon is around and it had plenty of extra content like that crazy talking Medic Power Armor...
