I am planing an assassination rogue. My group will consist of some heavy lifters so I can come in for the kill.
If they rogue is a weak class in this game I will go to my fall back; Human fighter.

not bad though you have very little willpower so you wont be able to use skills very often and i dont think you have picked up lethality, evasion, or any of the passives to improve your backstab bonus.. if it where me i would pick up those and then drop some cunning and constitution to pile a whole load more points into willpower. with evasion 1 in every 5 attacks an enemy does to you miss, combine that with a high dexterity and you dont need the constitution so much and cunning gives you armour penetration meaning slightly more damage but frankly being able to get off a decent chain of attacking skills will do much more damage so higher willpower>cunning (to an extent of course.. you do need cunning) for instance the lvl 22 dwarf rogue on this site has 36 willpower and only 28 cunning..

It's hard to know what stats to increase before playing the game. I'll rework the stats. any suggestions on talents to eliminate for the evasion line? thanks again.

thanks, I'll still probably end up playing the first 5-6 hours of the game several times before I settle on a build. I always do with these games. It's hard to judge how high to bring individual stats without getting a feel for the actual game mechanics, but it's a start.O111 wrote...
Looking god pudknocker, it's close to what I had in mind even if I haven't actually planned things that accurately.

Although you could kinda plan the skill/talent path to take.

I really hope the bards get like an instrument or something. Even just a horn would be cool, but im hoping for an electric guitar. I mean they game already has mages who are so powerful they can break into heaven and personally ****** off God, I figure an electric guitar wouldn't really be a stretch compared to that.

I'm using this as more of a guide to make sure I have the prerequisits in mind. I have a habit in these games of just jumping in and wasting 10 or 20 hours playing to realize that I have made a mistake that nerfs my character and have to start again. I do see your point about the lack of strength but based on this lvl 22 character ( http://social.biowar...&game=dragonage ) I am missing 23 attribute points, I'm sure I will boost str and con for that matter. but without knowing where those 23 point come into play or what stats they increase or when in the game I simply ignored them for the time being. I just find it easier and faster to get into the game if I have a good outline of my characters level progression. btw. the 23 points don't include bonuses from equipment, which, judging by the above character can add quite a bit to the character stats. thanks for the input. I assure you I probably will not end up with a lvl 20 rogue with 11 str. peaceShiroukai wrote...
Planning is all nice and all, but without knowing the boost some items give (most items give +str, +dex, +cun, ect) and the amount of str neccesary to wield different kinds of weapons (I doubt that you only need 11 str to wield a high lvl dagger) it is kinda pointless to do so allready.
Although you could kinda plan the skill/talent path to take.
