It is fantastic alright but ONLY because you have not invested the same ammount of playthroughs in ME1 and ME2 as i and most of fellow Bsners did.
Had you played 4 sheps, paragon-renegade-male-female you would be swearing by now.
I'm more invested than you, I'm a bigger fan than you, I'm more immersed than you... blahblahblah...
Just because someone invested a ridiculous amount of time in a game does not make the game's story worse or better. This person played the game once, and enjoyed the story from the beginning to the end. It must be hard to believe, but it still happened.
i meant that having played multiple playthroughs i did not see any difference to situations like Rachni-counsilor-collector base etc... One's expectations would drop if played one more time, that is all i am trying to say

LotSB goes a ways to it. That's also a fun DLC. Good battles, some new features. It's definitely worth it.
Sounds good. I hope that Citadel DLC adds good content for the ME2 cast. If it does, ME3 may end up being my favourite of the three games
Already watched that one on youtube. didnt have any money on me by the time i finished ME2's main plot, so i wanted to see what happens in between. It seemed decent, but i dont think ill end up buying it.

In my opinion, Mass Effect is a great gaming series, but it is too inconsistent and contradictory with its own lore to be a classic trilogy. This is understandable, shifting priorities changing times and different writers in the team do not bode well for a complete storyline.
It serves its purpose in that it was aimed to engender debate and encourage speculation, but it does that by having so many loose ends and assumptions.
Still it is a better than average game series with high production values.
It actually raised the bar for what i expect of games now. It made halo (may favourite game series prior to playing ME) look like a big pile of trash

Seriously? Detaching from the plot is a good thing? Wasn't that the problem of ME3?
I understand why Mass Effect 2 to some people is the best game of the series but to me its the worst.
Its not the characters or the lack of characters that makes me dislike it, it's the fact that it fails to be a sequel of the original game.
When the main plot is actually one of the worst things about the series, sure. How is ME3 detached?
ME1 drew me in with the sense of scale and exploration. Character interactions were also a large part of the deal for me. Ditto for ME2. ME3 largely did away with the former and severely reduced the latter, instead devoting almost entirely to the cuttlefish.
The Reapers are an interesting concept, but terrible main villains. They would serve better as a backdrop for one of the miscellaneous planet descriptions from ME1, those were always colorful and fun to read.

Agreed! Love playing through the whole trilogy.RZIBARA wrote...

Overall, the trilogy (ill just count it as one huge game) is the best game i have ever played. I enjoyed making choices, romancing characters, and getting to know other ones. No game has made me actually care about what happens to the galaxy or the characters with you. Overall, i give Mass Effect Trilogy a 9.5/10. If it werent for that damn ending it would be a 10/10.
...
Suggestion before throwing down money for DLC:
- Replay ME3 missions with different squad mates to hear the different dialog interactions in game.
- Replay the trilogy with some different choices (Wrex dead, Council dead, some ME2 squaddies dead, different Virmire Survivor, love interest, different Shep gender, etc)
- Replay ME3 with a non-imported Shep. I think this assumes many of the ME2 squaddies were killed in the Suicide mission

I can agree with you on those points, i know about those problems and those are some of the things i disliked about the third game. but ultimately i still love these games

Ehhh...Arrival didn't feel like it really added anything. It was fun, but I'd say you can pretty easily skip that DLC, unless you're going for the complete ME2 playthrough.
Yeah dont plan on buying kasumi, overlord, arrival or omega. watched them all on youtube.
I already bought bringing down the sky, havent played it yet though

Leviathan is crucial to me as it preshadows the catalyst and it really give a nice change of pace and a break to the constant battles, plus the end of Leviathan was fantastic.RZIBARA wrote...

Its fun having my femshep play as a total b*t*h to a friendly/good character.
Yes each games has its flaws, but not enough to stop me from playing the games.

Not bad, per se, but it isn't good either. It's formulaic, cliche, relies on character idiocy to advance itself, and is fundamentally identical to LOTR. Let's not even mention the Crucible or the Reapers' origins.

I agree that as individual gaming titles and a gaming series it puts many I/Ps to shame and it is far more ambitious than most.
ME3 should have been remembered as a classic game, but i expect it will forever be tainted by the controversy and by failing to live up to expectations.

The good far outweighs the bad IMO. Even with the ending, i still LOVED THE GAMES. Im not going to let some little brat (star kid) ruin the series for me

Yes i agree on the purpose of the reapers being lame (the star kid makes them seem so lame, but they seems pretty BA in the first game)

Not fear for what will happen to me, just fear about what I will do if I get serious.
