BSN is like a vacation at the country field full of flowers and singing birds...negativity? HA!
^ This. This place might be toxic at times, but Battle.net is hell on earth...

This site can be quite a stressful grind with all the bickering, negativity, and just plain annoyance. So where do you go or what do you do to blow off steam and detoxify your brain when this place gets too unbearable?
I'll go first.
I play ME MP, hang out in the off-topic section, or just go to ylutibe for.a while. If all else fails, I go and read a book.
BSN would rate 5/10 on the "bickering, negativity, and just plain annoyance." scale to be honest. I've seen worse. Much, much worse. Competitive gaming communities are the worst.

And while I never showed it, I was very, very close to permanently leaving the site at one point though, due to surges of drama on the more social side of BSN. That hasn't happened in a long time though, in Internet time.

I live here now. The Mass Effect forums no longer pull me in the same way they used to. DA's forums are better and have more Developer interaction, but I don't care for Party-Based games like that. Off-Topic is an oasis, a sanctuary for those seeking shelter from the vitriol of the internet's cold, icy grasp.I hang out in the off-topic section
Outside of Off-Topic, mostly Reading, YouTube, and other Video Games.

But still, anybody who's played a game of CoD online would have seen or heard worse.
Though I suppose it does have the quality of wearing people down over time. People are always "on" outside of the Off-Topic section with only a few exceptions. The lack of self awareness is also something that is either facepalm or chuckle inducing - watching someone say that people who don't or do like the ME 3 endings are the scum of the earth with complete sincerity and conviction is something I'll never fully come to terms with.
Will admit that I have contemplating leaving a few times already, and might be getting to that point again right now.

Toxicity of BSN is overrated. I've never really understood why BSN is seen a toxic community, especially as far as internet forums go. The exception to this is when personal threats are given, which I do think take things a step too far.

I think that's what's called grading on a curve. Compared to other sites, the BSN is okay. But by just looking at it on it's own, this place is not nearly as good.
Which is why I require breaks from time to time, while I don't require such breaks from places like the off-topic forums, most of the time.
