I don't know anyone who enjoyed being in the fade for more than 60 seconds. In Origins, you were forced to be there for a very long time. In DA2, it was relatively quick and painless, but was only cool if you brought Anders along. It still looked like ass, though.

One of the big reasons why I hate the fade is because it's an eye sore. Seriously, the graphics and art direction for this place (where supposedly the Maker dwells) is some of the worst I've ever seen in a game. How on earth did the artists at Bioware think that this looked good in any way shape or form? Image IPB

So, please, Bioware... no more. Just stop.

It's an integral part of the game world. Deal with it.

References and codex entries are fine. But I don't want to be forced to visit the ****ing place anymore.

Aww. But I loved the fade sequences. :'(
I actually was a little sad that we weren't there longer in DA2.
I liked the sort of underwater/unreal look to it. Like a bad copy of the real world. The spirits just couldn't get it right.

I like the fade, but maybe make it a little less blurry and beige

I don't mind if it's a short quest like in 2. But I would definitely prefer to avoid another multi-zoned hours-long Fade portion.

The game is mainly about mage vs. templars. The fade will have to be involved in some way.

..... The maker doesn't live in fade. he did earlier before the magisters corrupted the black city, but it's not like, heaven. The fade is a dreamworld, and I think the bioware artists did a good job of capturing it with their nightmarish surreal landscape. was it's involvement in the mage circle quest in DA:O too drawn out? In my opinion, yes, but you can't not like it just because it's not 'pretty' enough for you. a playble fade sequence has become somewhat of a tradition, and I'd be upset if it WASN'T included.

I didn't like the Fade either, ugh. I don't know how many of my play throughs stopped at the Circle of Magi, because I just can't myself to go through it again. It's just too long for my taste.

DA2 did it right and I actually enjoyed it, I went in with every single companion. My personal favourite is with Anders and Varric =)

Of course the Maker left, who in their right mind would want to stay? I don't think there was anything "nightmarish" about the landscape. It looked like something my younger cousin would draw in art class. It wouldn't have been so bad if not for the terrble colors and blur filters. Why wasn't this stuff changed in the sequel?

I want the fade in DA:I along with deep roads too, with the new graphics engine just make it look nicer and with the new philosophy of more open world and places (even though not sandbox) make them bigger but nicely designed layout, story and maybe well scripted puzzles and events.

The fade is integral to mages and deep roads integral to wardens, there will be wardens and mages I believe in DA:I so I think should be some story aspect that takes part in both.

I actually liked the Fade in Origins. Not so much fights, some shapeshifting "puzzles" and rewards for exploring every area. With the new engine I could imagine that the artists can do a better job of providing a dreamworld, maybe with morphing environments and cool filters.

So, I'm looking forward to seeing the Fade again and how it evolved.

Yeah, I like the concept of the fade -- but I'm not a fan of the design either. I don't think it is nightmarish really, just ugly and blurred edges give me a bit of headache.

I would rather them change the design then get rid of it all together though -- because the lore of the place is really interesting.

I enjoyed it in DAO.

The fade in DA2 was too short

Indeed.

All those new forms and abilities made for a fun break from typical combat

Other than the tl;dr fade from Origins the fade sequences were okay from then on. I did enjoy my first foray through it in Origins since getting to turn into a golem when I've been running around as a duster was fun, but subsequent times were only a grind (Nial didn't help with things either, at least it wasn't Jowan stuck there too).

That was the only thing that was cool about it. They could have had a level outside of the fade where you got to use all those abilities.

Except that the Fade was the only place it made any sense lorewise.

I didn't like having to fight through it all every play through in DA:O
Enjoyed seeing companions dreams though.
The fade is a good concept, just a bit repetitive and you couldn't skip it (unless on PC).

Didn't appreciate it as much is DA2 but in terms of combat being shorter it was better.
Companions seemed to be too easily manipulated.

The first time I went through the Fade in DA:O, I loved that part. The fifth time, not so much. It's not that it was bad, at least to me, it just got tedious. But I also didn't mind the Deep Roads in DA:O, and I know others thought that was too long.

Better puzzles, cooler dream sequences, and more, unique areas, is what I hope for for the Fade in DA3. Not just throwing it out because it was poorly implemented in DA2.

They should toss out their current way of visualising it and try to come up with something more interesting, but I wouldn't say get rid of it.

I agree that the MQ fade portion in DA:O was a bit long, but I wouldn't want to get rid of it completely.

I think my favorite fade portion is actually in the Blackmarch of Awakening. They did a great job of showing how the fade can be a warped representation of the "real world." And it doesn't always have to be drab looking with brown colors. It can actually look bright and vibrant, which gives it an almost creepier feel.

Well, now you know one. Me. I loved the fade in DA:O, and would love a similar fade experience. Plus I also liked the look of it.

So, please, Bioware... more. Continue.
