No more "Fade" sequences. Ever.

I can understand people thinking it was too long in DA:O, though...you're railroaded for a considerable period of time.

The fade was awful in Origins. I didn't mind it at all in DA2 though.
And some of us thought it was a ripoff in DA2. For $60, it was like 15 minutes long.
Some of us like some depth with our games. We don't want things easily handed to us.

Awakening fade: Yes.
DA2 fade: Ew, rehash.

Trudging can be fun. I specifically asked for the Deep Roads to contain more trudging.bclagge wrote...

I don't mind if it's a short quest like in 2. But I would definitely prefer to avoid another multi-zoned hours-long Fade portion.
^This. It's essentially the reason I never bothered with a second play through. I just couldn't bear the thought of trudging through that portion of the game again. You should never have to trudge. I want to have fun.
Really.

Because you bought DA2 solely for fade sections?

As long as it's a short, not five hour trip I'm good with it. The fade is part of the DA verse, to get rid of it is stupid

But the protagonist should get more superpowers while in it. Like I do in my dreams.

I just love it when people imply you're a simple-minded fool for not enjoying the same things they do.

I find it funny that people dont like it because "it was blurry" thats what the dream world is sposed to be, blurry and out of focus, its also not a sutibale environment for humans.
so I think the art is correct in depicting it this way.

I think you can make things dream-like without the blur and blanket of brown. I don't remember it being nearly as bad in DA 2 than it was in DAO (there was more color, definitely), so chances are it's not going to go back that way.

I don't think people are simple minded...just lazy.
For $60 I want depth in my games. I don't want things easily handed to me. I want challenges.
They can come up with a reasonable compromise instead of catering to one fan group.

Proably something to do with the fact that Hawke and co were inside the dreams of a somniari, and awoke as soon as the quest was over.Rorschachinstein wrote...
I've always wondered why they got rid off some the lovecraft elements in DA2. Not that I think the Fade in DA 2 was bad, I actually liked it a lot more than the Origins one, but it certainly did not look as good.
When the Warden was sent into The Fade, he was initially trapped in a dream of "Weisshaupt Fortress" (actually looked more like a variation of Ostagar, probably a deliberate deisgn choice), and he didn't see the Fade "proper" until he broke the illusion.

Anyways, yes, Fade can stay but only if it's a lot better than DAO. DA2 was fine.

How is your way of gaming any less lazy than anyone else's? I'm pretty sure it still consists of sitting on your ass and staring at a screen for hours.Melca36 wrote...

The Fade in Origins, with all its tedious backtracking, is not challenging at all, at least not after the first time. It's just boring.

(Watch a few minutes of this to get an idea of what I mean - incredible music too IMO)...skip to about a minute in for gameplay.
