To branch out from here, I think you're in good shape with Casters. A Human Sentinel with an Avenger and a Shuriken is a force to be reckoned with on Gold (just as an example.) Whenever you can focus on your powers, your manifest will be less of an issue.

I love the EDIbot for the light melee alone..
Was in a gold match earlier where all four of us were AIUs, 4 mad droids running around spraying everything with our fire extinguishers. Didn't have to try, but it was fun.

I'm glad there is a character that helps people play gold. Just try not to be stupid and think you can tank everything. I have mixed feelings about this character. I'm not a nerfer. Those people whine too much. However, I know this character can be abused by dumb players. I like her the way she is, but I have a feeling she'll get nerfed. If the community is loud enough like it was for the Krysae and Piranha, it's inevitable. Just go play her as much as you can, while you can. I'm now working on my 10 extractions with her after finishing the Talon and Cabal.

I do understand the plight of silver players now that I look back at my playing time. When I started in gold, everyone else doing gold had no medigel either so we all played like noobs. We play like the noobs that some of us have given a hard time in lobbies these day for being so lowly ranked with low weapons. I know I'm guilty of it. I've forgotten that I first started my gold journey with a human sentinel and a Carnifex 1. For my sins of jumping on noobs in gold lobbies, I will no longer kick anyone in gold no matter what they have. Just don't come into my platinum lobbies.

Agree with you, I love her just as she is now but sadly I can see Bioware listening to all the whiners on the boards and nerfing her. Damn shame if it happens.

The first character I ever took into a gold PUG was my Human Engineer with an Avenger X. I used him not because he was considered one of the best back then (like the "godlike" SI), but because I was very familiar with him, and knew how to play him well. Silver was beginning too feel way to easy, so I bumped up to gold. It was quite the jump for a while, but you get the hang of it, and before too long, it feels "normal," and silver feels like bronze.

You have to admit though, she is a little OP. I myself hope she gets a minor nerf to repair matrix. Maybe lower the DR/shield regen a little bit. But it shouldn't be the new destroyer.

Wow, What happened when I was away?? O.o

It's not about my inventory, its about my Medigel Capacity. I only have room for two mistakes and I don't think I can go through an entire Gold match without making a few of them.

I used to fail alooot of Silver matches when I first started because of the low capacity consumables, but now it has been sooo much easier to survive now that I have more Ops Packs! ;D

So I think if I continue to play Gold with the AIU and buy packs hoping to get Medigel Capacity Upgrades. Maybe along the way I will get used to Gold Difficulty, so that when I'm finally ready to play my favorite characters on Gold, I wouldn't have such a hard time!

Wrong.  The only way to be ready to play gold is to jump right in.  Silver can't teach you gold strategies.  I got my intro to gold with the GE.

Now then Scarlet, congrats on the AIU. Hopefully it works out well for you. It should be a good intro into gold for you in terms of getting used to its spawns, damage control and team work. Dont let nay sayers tell you how to play your account. If it works for you then play it that way (so long as it doesnt go against terms of service).

Gold is a harrowing experience the first handful of times no matter what character you play with. Even AIU can only sugar coat the death process. A lesser experienced player will still feel like and be deadweight to his or her advanced teammates.

Personally, I love the concept of the AIU. It's for those randoms that have no interest in playing as a team and run off by themselves only to get killed. At least this way, those selfish PUGs can actually contribute to the team by distracting hordes of enemies while dying and reviving multiple times.

In terms of helping someone acclimate to gold, I can see that being a legitimate argument in favor of the repair matrix. It's not always the skill of the single player that determines the outcome of a gold match--it's the team cohesion, weapons, and gear equipped by all. Scarlet, as long as you have a good team backing you and some good weapons/equipment, you'll be just fine in a gold match. You'll pick up experience along the way.

I actually sort of resent the AIU a little <_< because it replaced my beloved Shadow as the best stealth medic!

I think only having the two medigels helps you more than anything.  You don't learn unless you make mistakes.  That's how I learned to drive.   You play enough with that 2 gels and you learn to stay alive.

Well, it's hard playing my favorite characer (The N7 Fury) without making a few mistakes. :/
