Been a bit low on respec cards recently but next time I spec her I'll probably skip Poison Strike like in one of your classes.
Yeah you can get a some forward movement with her forward dash and her heavy melee, but only out of battle. In Battle you will have to rely on your side and back hops to navigate. Of course it doesnt hurt that you have a speed boosting power as well. But the upside is that you can take down most things pretty quickly. You can spam NB on Dragoons and Phantoms inbetween bursts of Weapon fire. Its secretly one of the most durable soldier builds in the game.

Ive done some extensive testing and I used a basic cerb trooper and centurion on gold as test subjects. Speccing totally for power damage (whenever possible plus power amp on a pistol) I notice very little difference. All weapon dmg can take down a trooper in 1 Blade, the power setup can as well. Both require 2 to take out a shielded centurion. Even after the poison DOT. The power dmg did not significantly alter PS damage. If it hits it takes about half the health of a trooper.
Next I tried all weapon damage and brought a talon X. With dmg and AP mod its at 200% CD and BF can be used almost every 3 seconds. It takes 2 talon body shots to kill a trooper. 1 headshot will also do it. Next I tried with no weapon damage. Same results. 2 bodyshots or 1 headshot. Then I added the 40% dmg mod that weighs more. My CD became 160% and I got the same results on troopers.
In both of these builds I also tested a harrier X. With all weapon damage it did excellent damage and my CD was about 145%. BF speed was about 3.8 seconds. I could feel the delay. With the weight reduction/power build I had a CD of 175% and BF was somewhere in the range of 3.3 seconds. Very fast. I could feel the half second to second delay difference.
I also ran some tests on full melee spec with juggernaut gear. The damage difference is noticeable but Im not wild about her melee dmg in the first place. Since a good portion of it is DOT its not THAT great for taking down enemies. If you go bananas on the melee you can 1 shot a gold trooper. But you lose so much durability and that all important grenade cap V. Unacceptable.
Lastly as to BF 6: I tried it with 6b and did not feel a HUGE DR difference. As long as shieldgate is a mechanic in this game, getting your shields back trumps DR (unless you have huuuuge stacked DR).
So, after extensive testing Im running 06666 with a harrier X and easily topping scoreboards while remaining very durable. Shes basically a BatSol that can dodge, dodge through walls, spam the everloving daylights out of blades and get a shield boost every 3.3 seconds. The harrier offers good single target DPS, BF and dodge offer durability and blades neutralize phantoms, crowd control, and via spam can spawn nuke reasonably well. The only problem is between the harrier and blades youre like a crack addict with ammo crates. When there are other nade users it is very noticeable.
Hooraaaaaaay Cabal!
the only things I would changeare the rank 4s of BF and passives. I take the weight cap increase on 4 for a faster BF and movement on BF 4. The he DR is ok but with that extra movement Im just so fast. I can strafe shots from enemies quite frequently.

Hmm for me its probably a Talon wielding Gunwitch. I've got the heavy melee PS thing down pretty good. The acolyte/ hurricane combos is probalby more versitle and overall better. But I love the fact that i dont have to change weapons and I get a really high cooldown. It allows me to be a little more reckless. If I'm lucky I can get a headshot on take down that phantom anyway. Combined with AP or Warp ammo my Talon can chew through most bosses. Its slower and you have to feed yur powers with a stray mook every now and then, but it allows you to enjoy all aspects of her abilty set. You melee, you shoot and you use all her powers.me0120 wrote...

Venom Marine close second. She really is fun but personally I still 6 ranks from somewhere to get her 3 ranks in PS. It has saved me on anumber of occasions and considering how often I gotta hit the ammo box its really conveinent.

I've burnt at least 4, probably 5 respecs on her. At the end of a day I dropped PS entirely. Something very similar to your Venom Marine. 06666.

Yeah this is a good build too. I also tried 6b on BF and I am not impressed. And until I get another respec card I'm probably stuck with it like that though I'm tempted to promote.
Its true PS doesn't really do much damage. To be honest I think its hit detection is bugged. Even if it was working perfectly I still wouldn't take it as a damaging power. But it is meant to be an escape tool that also does free damage. Or at least that is how I look at it. Heavy melee then PS always hits though.
I'm glad you found a style that works for you. Thats what I love about the Cabal so many styles.
I think I'm going to have to write asection about some of the drawbacks of each style compared to the others.

4/4/6/6/6
PS: Range
NS: capacity
BF: DR/Melee/Shield
All weapon passives
All melee passives
Preferred weapon: Graal w/ omni-blade and dmg mod
Use a combination of melee and weapons to lay waste to the enemy. PS is for movement/escape and NS blades are available for stagger and a little extra damage if needed. Biotic Focus keeps you alive and gives you a boost to melee damage so be sure to use it as often as you can.
After a heavy melee kill you get a significant boost to weapons, giving you roughly 62.5% weapon damage in total without amps/mods. The Graal is great because it staggers, can be shot while running, and is capable of headshots. It is also a shotgun so it can carry the omni-blade which you will need for the most melee damage possible.
Use the Geth Scanner so you can melee enemies through walls and increase your battlefield awareness that is invaluable to this class. Strength Amp, Incendiary ammo, and Cyclonic/Adrenaline are also recommended.
This is a melee-centric build so it is not reccomended for Platinum. If you want to venture into Platinum you will need a weapon that is more capable of dealing with bosses. GPS w/ Warp Ammo is a solid choice or an Acolyte/Hurricane combination should work as well.

Does the ability even restore shield-gate? If you just lost your shields it is on cooldown and this ability doesn't seem to restore it. People have reported being shot straight down to health gate, or beyond, aftyer using it. It does give 0.5 seconds invulnerability which is significantly underrated and the main reason I went back to it.etm125 wrote...

PS: Range
NS: capacity
BF: DR/Melee/Shield
All weapon
All melee
Graal (or GPS) w/ omni blade and heavy barrel
Both of these weapons don't require smart choke and the graal can headshot. Use a combination of melee and weapons to lay waste to the enemy. PS is for movement/escape and NS blades are for on-demand stagger if needed.
After a heavy melee kill you get 25% weapon bonus IIRC so effectively you get roughly 60% weapon damage without amps/mods. I found the damage from NS blades ineffective because you could have killed them by the time the poison damage takes effect, plus Geth Scanner is so good and it's hard to justify taking grenade capacity over it.
Use Geth Scanner so you can melee dudes through walls and have more awareness in general. Strength Amp, Incendiary ammo, and Cyclonic/Adrenaline are recommended.
Just the way I like to play her and not my definitive build yet.
Hey that is a great build. Its basically like my gunwitch build but with a Grall instead of packing two weapons. A vary dangerous build with the right ammo type or on its own.

Its funny you should ask this. Stardusk has been trying to solo platinum with her and doesnt like her lack of special damage. Then I started thinking about PS. If there was a way to get PS to reliably apply its damage then Poison Strike would become a ridiculously powerful ablitity. You could kill a boss without ever being touched all you would have to do is zip around the map, spraying blades and posioning everything as well as using your weapons. I think if there was a more relaible way to use PS as damage on bosses the class would be really powerful. One application would add almost 2000 poison damage combined with poison blades. Yeah she could be deadly against bosses. As cool as she is now she could become even better.
So I guess the challenge then is how to realiably use PS against bosses. So far the only reliable way is to use heavy melee then hit PS.

I've had this happen to me twice, I am unable to move or rotate my camera after using a Heavy Melee attack. prepare for great music.

I find that the class is very lag-dependant like other vanguards. On-host I don't have many problems with her other than the occasionaly heavy melee missing the inteded target.

No Nightshade Blades, I prefer my characters to be sustainable if possible. As for Evo 6a, I just try to not get hit. With that dodge and PS maneuverability combined with map awareness and general location knowledge, its easier to avoid death than you think.
I could be convinced to trade 7.5% MS for 10% DR, and I think next time I respec I'll do just that.

One the builds that don't use biotic shield and instead goes for grabbing as much mobility and speed as possible. Run around the map nuking positions with NSBs and keep running. Use PS to quickly enter and leave dangerous situation.
Carry an acolyte for those pesky boss shields, and a hurricane for everything else.
