Lastly as to BF 6: I tried it with 6b and did not feel a HUGE DR difference. As long as shieldgate is a mechanic in this game, getting your shields back trumps DR (unless you have huuuuge stacked DR).

Does the ability even restore shield-gate? If you just lost your shields it is on cooldown and this ability doesn't seem to restore it. People have reported being shot straight down to health gate, or beyond, aftyer using it. It does give 0.5 seconds invulnerability which is significantly underrated and the main reason I went back to it.

It does not. But after the few second delay its back. Ive tried both 6a and 6b and the shield boost is just....infinitely better than a bit more marginal DR.

I prefer 6/0/6/6/6. All focus on power damage and melee damage. Heavy melee to a target, Poison Strike out. Joust large enemies using Poison Strike. Biotic Focus uses the MS, Melee Damage, and Evo 6b for maximum movement & hitting power with a bit of DR.

No Nightshade Blades, I prefer my characters to be sustainable if possible. As for Evo 6a, I just try to not get hit. With that dodge and PS maneuverability combined with map awareness and general location knowledge, its easier to avoid death than you think.

I could be convinced to trade 7.5% MS for 10% DR, and I think next time I respec I'll do just that.

Hmm interesting. Well if you can get PS to hit consitantly then its good.  I guess it wiered you skipped one of the powers but took all the power damage passives.

I was thinking the missing Venom that uses PS as a good part of its DPS. Mabye a futre build for when the Cabal is patched?

I tried this, but I found PS not great at dealing damage and the weapon passives hard to pass up. Also with how aggressive you need to be with melee the shield boost really keeps you alive. An omni-blade and strength amp III gives a sufficient amount of melee for Gold.

I just soloed Platinum/Reapers/Goddess with the Cabal in 56.02 minutes. The build I used, which is the only build that anyone should ever use with this class until it gets buffed (hopefully), is this:

- Poison Strike: not used.
- N. Blades: 4A 5A 6A (full damage and range)
- Biotic Focus: 4B 5A 6A (speed, duration and barrier regen)
- Turian passive: 4B 5A 6B (power, power and weapon damage)
- Full fitness.

Weapon of choice was the Talon X. It's absolutely amazing. Prolly the best Vanguard after the Drellguard. Nightshade Blades are just incredible.

The only downside to this is that you only get 7 blades in all, which makes maps without 2 nades annoying as heck. Otherwise, this vanguard completely dominates the field. The nemesis of this character is the Ravager. Everything else, including the entire Cerberus and Geth factions, gets destroyed by her. Collectors can be annoying due to the bees, but that's it.

Keep spamming Biotic Focus during the entire match and enjoy god-mode! Until you get sniped by a Ravager or teleport into a Geth Hunter...

One the builds that don't use biotic shield and instead goes for grabbing as much mobility and speed as possible. Run around the map nuking positions with NSBs and keep running. Use PS to quickly enter and leave dangerous situation.

Carry an acolyte for those pesky boss shields, and a hurricane for everything else.

How is that build working out for you. I have had that build recently and couldn't stop dropping but you went for more sheilds than I did.

That is basicly one pick away from my first playstyle. I went melee synergy instead and really loved it.

It's hard on consoles. Also, I ran away too much from Banshees in fear I was gonna get flanked while engaging them, cause no Responder Loadout/Survivor/Armored Compartments, slowdown on Goddess and mega-brightness with Biotic Focus making things hard to see. Could've been shorter by 10 minutes or so.

Got easy objectives. Pizza delivery on wave 3 and two simple escorts.

Build uses enhanced blades which I think performed way better than exploding blades

On gold  the main causes of death are off host PS and Pugs reviving you when they shouldn't. Most of the times you're moving so fast that moving in a horizontal line avoids most damage.

not to mention she's excellent for running pizzas and keeping the area around the devices clear.

Once correct build? I'm not so certain but I'm curious what you think it is.

This thread's badass. Love the pics and thought you put into this character, OP.

I ****ing hated her at first, but after a few more rounds that weren't Collectors/Gold/****ty-host I came to realize that she's pretty awesome. Or at least can be. Also came to realize that they somehow managed to make a Vanguard without Charge who's still almost entirely host-dependent for success. It's annoying. I mean don't get me wrong I still topped the scoreboards off host, but I was dropping like a fly in the late waves when it wasn't my game; any lag or latency renders BF and those dodges too little too late.

Gonna try the 06666 build next but I do think I'll miss those PS/backdash Atlas confusion shenanigans. Going melee-centric with the 66606 build sounds interesting too but it seems hard to justify skipping out on both lower cooldowns and those glorious Turian passives. This is probably the one class I have the hardest time picking a build for. Which makes this thread even more appealing. Good stuff.

If there is only one correct build for a character then said character is broken

 Assassin build
6/6/6/5/3

She is all about running around and striking.  Hit and run.  Biotic focus used for speed and damage reduction.  Run up to a group, launch the blades, shoot a little bit then PS through the group.  Bosses will require more shooting time, however with at least 1 bar of armor left you can PS.
PS: Damage, Duration, Strength
NSB: Damage,Duration, Enhanced
BF: Damage Taken, Duration, Heightened Focus
Passives: Dam & Cap, Power Damage
Fitness: The first 3 ranks only

Theres only one correct build for the kroguard too. Could say he is broken but not in the same context.
Poison strike is as of now too underwhelming a skill to sacrifice any points in. Good luck with the awkward pause at the end of the power in platinum games.

I'll test the venom marine next time I play the cabal, only because the name and picture looks pretty damn awesome.
