Its true that it doesn't block grenade explosions, however, I've seen a mook throw a grenade, and while it was physically in flight, it impacted the shield and bounced down to the bottom. I'm starting to think its more or less shoddy collision detection, or unreliable the further from the center point it gets.

I've also found that the chances of it blocking shots from regular Scions & Ravagers is directly related to A) How close you are to the shield and B) How close to the center of the shield the shot goes. I could've sworn I'd blocked some shots from Geth Primes this way, too.

Often times if I reposition squarely placing the shield between me and the Scion, the shots will hit it and do nothing. However, if I'm close, d'at splash will basically hit me as if the shield isn't there.

I was playing A LOT with the Juggernaut on Silver, messing around with the shield. I need to start making videos so I can show this stuff.

Grenades mechanics when impacting the shield are already in the original post.

It always blocks scion and ravager shots... It does NOT block the AoE of the shots.

Geth Prime shots are NOT blocked by the shield.

If you make the videos, I will gladly put links to them on the original post. Platinum is preferable to stay consistent with the rest of my tests.

It's a shame that the Geth Prime shots don't get stopped by our shield because that is most likely the ONE ATTACK that I really want stopped more than anything.

It really is a shame. However, it may not yet be working as intended so we will see if it will change.:wizard:

It also blocks friendly fire, which is annoying.
I also think that if a friendly shoots it enough, it'll break.

Missed the grenade bit in the original post.  Just saw the 'doesn't block mook grenades' and didn't see an 'explosion' part of it.

I'll look again, but I do recall it being very inconsistent in blocking the prime shots.  I can't see how changing difficulty would matter unless its destroying the shield from damage output.  Once more, I think its problematic hit detection.  I notice Scion shots pass right thru the side, same with ravager, but if I'm dead center between their gun and me, it usually stops the shots.  Still, can be dodgy.

Just got confirmation that the Hex shield is NOT supposed to stop splash damage, ONLY the projectile.

Also got confirmation that the Geth Prime shots being able to pass through the shield is a bug that will be attempted to be fixed in the next balance change.

Thanks for the input Mr. Fagnan!

The Hex Shield also blocks Seeker Swarms and Plagues. They just bump into it and can't move through it.

@OP: Thanks a lot for this Beta, as I too was wondering about Hex Shield's limitations. And it's nice to have confirmation from Fagnan too. :)

This one I haven't even heard of... I will have to test and put results up soon.
