i'll begin by saying that i've never criticized or judged ppl who use this tactic on platinium. if that's how they choose to play that's their business.
a buddy and me were running U/U/G and decided not to wait for the lobby to fill. got rio reapers. smooth waves and by wave 4 i think we had a full room. by around wave 7 or so i notice that only 3 of us are running the map. so i look back towards the infamous crate and sure enough someone's camping there. i thought ok, so someone's squishy and wants to ride it out there or maybe we just have the occasional PUG leech. upon reaching the box i find...
A GETH JUGGERNAUT.

without knowing this person's ability level i couldn't tell if i had a leech or a troll. so i became the troll. waves 8 and 9 became an excercise in kiting the enemy back to the crate and shooting out his hex shield so he'd actually have to use the character that was DESIGNED TO ELIMINATE THE NEED TO CAMP THE BOX OF SHAME. wave 10 arrives and it's escort i think. he then, EMERGES FROM THE BOX and kites all the banshees and brutes away from us like the boss he was meant to be. it was at this time i got the idea to create this thread. so he DID know how to use this character after all!

after extraction, he vanishes before i throw up my kick vote but not before i see his 1478 N7 rank. so i have no regrets about trolling him and telling you fine folks about  the experience.

tl;dr: please don't camp the box of shame if you're a juggernaut. if you do, i believe the phrase is, "you are bad and you should feel bad."

anyone else have a similiar experience?

I have only seen the box used once on gold, I simply went on the mic and suggested an alternate location where they could have fun and I would have their back. As you know I only run Plat with you guys and the only use for the box is ammo when we get pushed back.

From Friday night to Sunday  the quality of gold pugs has taken a serious nose dive this weekend, I pug generallly in the mornings and the quality dueing the week it top notch.

Wow, that is bad. Unless he was running a low level Juggernaut and trying to steal cheap xp, I can fathom no reason he would need to use the box of shame. The Juggernaut has almost nothing to fear from reapers on gold.

yep.
that's why i began kiting the enemy back to him. and after watching his wave 10 heroics, it was clear his juggernaut was suitably leveled up.

hilarious and irritating at the same time.

I honestly wish you could lock people in the box of shame with hex shield. You have no idea how sad I was to learn that you couldn`t.  I was looking forward to just trolling rio platinum farmers, oh, its an objective wave?, Too bad your all locked in the box, now my juggernaut can go pick up the pizza then go camp in a corner. I know, I`m a bad person and should feel bad, but it feels SOooooo good.

um, PPR, Spitfire, or possibly lancer? Maybe then, I don`t remember pugging last night, but hey, I was a little drunk.

But who wants to move around Rio with a Juggernaut? It's a pain in the ass. I'd move back and forth from the middle part of the map on Gold and move around near the box of shame or near the extraction zone on Platinum with him. Maybe the guy didn't want to get dropped on Rio with a freaking Juggernaut?

Had it happen to me and a couple friends on Platinum. Dude had a damn collector sniper rifle. The game probably would have ended much worse if I hadn't also been a Juggernaut, and doing my job RIGHT.

I have to say, the Juggernaut and the Paladin sentinel have fairly nice synergy, with me detonating all his powers with siege pulse and him providing a second layer of defense behind the hex shield.

You should actually try a juggernaut warlord combo some time, its surprisingly effective.

One of the pugs we played with was a warlord. Thing is, the guy was specced out of biotic hammer so my shield-draining made him effectively redundant.

Same here... Or, at least it would have been if we weren't getting pushed back constantly. Even I fell back into the box at one point to shield my allies with my own body.

I had one of my best games with a GJ on Rio Gold, vs Cerberus. I rarely left the middle ledge unless it was for an objective. Good place to hang out and use siege pulse or pop heads with my Javelin. Ended up coming in first. Don't know why anyone playing the Jugg would feel the need to hide in the corner.

Only time I use the box is if I'm swamped and in the neighborhood. Even on Plat as Juggs, I stand outside it while my team camps it lol. I'm such a hero

if that is the best they can do, then let them play as they want.   Looked at your n7hq, and if its you, then it looks like you farm glacier platinum.

i played with some randoms that did the box of shame on gold - they had low level weapons and gear ( really some of their gear was at one ), but I was not going to ridicule them for that.

I was lucky and when I started playing gold I found some great players to play with that already had high level stuff so I did not have to farm for credits ( but I did when my friends were not available, fbwgg in the old days ).

ive found that I need at least two good players on gold to be successful, your experience might be different.
