This is a good point. Before anyone tries putting words in my mouth, I am not suggesting that a customer should not demand to be treated fairly. You should, and many people are. The fact that there are some people whose demands go way beyond fair treatment doesn't change this. On a side note, If enough people believe that to be complete, a game need only have a beginning. middle, and end then is it possible that in say 5 years time, side-quests will no longer be included in original boxed games? Will it only be "oldies" nostalgic for the "good old days" who care? Will they be characterised as living in the past, and dismissed as having a sense of entitlement? I guess nostalgia has nothing to do with being "reasonable".
I think the people that want DLC for free simply refuse to comprehend that, with the exception of Stone Prisoner, everything else that has been released for Dragon Age was created after the content for the game was locked down late lin 2008 because Bioware originally planned to release this game on PC in either the first or second quarter of 2009. Just because the content fits in as well as it does is not an indication that it was removed by Bioware to simply make extra money off of the game as DLC. I don't see that having or not having optional content makes the game any less complete as it comes on the game disc (whether the PC version, which is installed on the player's PC, or the other available versions of the game).

I see, so you are proud of the Xbox 360 version of this game and the support that has been provided for it? So you think the Xbox 360 version of this game is a "solid product"?
Then again how would you know. Have you even bothered to look, let alone post, in the 360 tech sub-forums?

That's what you call putting words in his mouth. You can bet your bottom dollar Bioware is as unhappy about the situation as you are.

I find this statement totally disengenuious considering the state of the Xbox 360 version of the game. Action speaks louder than words.

Is Return to Ostagar officially out yet for all platforms? If it is and there is no patch for any platform (which they have said would be the case) then you might have reason to continue complaining about their support of those of you that have experienced problems with the game. I know that we PC owners had to wait for some issues to get fixed that you didn't experience because your versions of the game had those fixes already.

How can our version of the game be "fixed" already when people can not even finish it due to memory leaks and corrupted saves. You have a very strange definition of "fixed".

Of course I'm proud of the Xbox 360 version of Dragon Age. Many people have played it, and enjoyed it a great deal... as they should as it's an incredible game. When it comes to bugs, whether they be with Dragon Age: Origins or with anything we release in association with it, we will address those bugs as we can... even delaying a product, if need be, despite the disappointment it causes. What's not to be proud of?Taiko Roshi wrote...

I realize you no doubt have a ready answer for that, but I'll encourage you not to drag this thread off topic. There are always going to be issues with just about anything we release -- that does not stop most people from enjoying them, or me from being proud of them. And I'll leave it at that.

I don't think someone like him will be happy until you tell him you're utterly motified by the state of the latest DLC and drop to your knees in tears about the truly tragic inconveniences you've inflicted on his gaming hobby because of it.
Simply tragic

Do you think that only the XBox 360 version of the game has such things happen? I'm pretty sure that some reports of this exist for the PC version, and maybe even for the PS3 version. Also, are you willing to challenge the reports of players of the XBox 360 version that say they have completed the game? Oh well, I'm going to bow out for now.

Lets say that your business has 1,000 customers and 500 are just happy. 480 are happy but want more content, 10 have technical issues driven by user error that should fall under existing CS tools to resolve, 5 have PCs and have issues that can be resolved with approximately 60 hours of work for 90% of your resources (read: code monkeys), 3 are just complaining because it won't do things that it was never intended to do and 2 have complex issues associated with unusual hardware or software configurations and will take considerable and unpredictable resources to identify and resolve.
Where do you expend your resources? I mean, after you have a massive celebration for somehow releasing a software product that is so perfect only 1 in 100 consumers manage to screw it up themselves. Admittedly I have the PC version of the game and it runs beautifully. Still, I'm not finding a lot of results for searches about xbox360 DA:O technical issues. Are you saying that every xbox360 is totally unable to play the game suddenly? Or at least that everyone with a 360 is having a game-breaking bug that didn't exist prior?
I'm pretty careful in how I tread around the cross-platform issues on games these days. The market is already moving towards platform specialization and I do NOT want that. No console is ever going to complete with what a top-line PC can do for performance but consoles are drastically easier to support for a developer. Less variety in hardware, drivers, software platforms and builds.
My suggestion is to just drop the console platforms and their support entirely for games like DA:O. Stick with us PC consumers! We love you long time! We recognize the complexity of developing software that will run on 5 operating systems, hundreds of video/audio/chipset configurations and literally thousands of drivers! We're more patient about technical issues. You keep making us awesome games like this and we'll keep telling you that you're smart and pretty and boy oh boy do we know how to give DLC the love.
Seriously. We PC users spend lots of money keeping our systems up to date just so we can spend money on new games. Console folks just want to rent your creations from Gamefly. We want to OWN it, MOD it and make it love us back, so we're more patient about the long-term investment.

This whole anti-greed thing is a bit silly. You think you're completely without greed? Without any greed at all, we wouldn't want anything. There'd be literally no economy. Nobody would have any reason to make food in a field out in the middle of nowhere, pack it all up in a truck, clean it off, display it, so that you can show up a supermarket and obtain it without having to grow it yourself.
Greed is good. Economy is good. Nobody's putting a gun to your head to force you to purchase their entertainment products.
Greed being part of the '7 deadly sins' is one of the biggest logical fallacies in all of history.

This is why the forums are a very poor representation of the total demeanor of the clientele. People only come here if they have a problem, they want to help solve problems, or they're a fanboy.

They like to rant and flame people who dare to suggest that it might be a localized problem rather than a widespread one too. The only thing more dangerous than a person intent on causing harm is a person with a little knowledge and a misguided sense of that same knowledge. If I had a dime for every time I've heard, "I built this computer myself and there's no way anything could be wrong with it" then my grandchildren would still be living off the leftovers when THEY have grandchildren.
