I think it's a huge joke for Bioware to charge outrageous amounts of money for so little content. All of them can be finished in less than an hour and their main purpose is not to advance the story in a meaningful way, but to give player extra items. I can admit that Shale was moderately interesting - but then again they're planning on charging $15 for it, which is ridiculous. Don't get me started on RtO - they are basically recycling old stuff and charging for it. Oh wow, it has some new items. How amazing.
I think if the DLC's were free, it would really show commitment and dedication of Bioware to the community and encourage more people to buy this game. I think they could take a page out of Blizzard's book (free battle.net) on how to treat the fans of their game.
If you can finish the Stone Prisoner in one hour I'll give you your $15 back.
Stone Prisoner:
1) Explore Honnleath and complete a quest to free Shale. Some great new items (Helm of Honnleath

) and battles to be fought.
2) Listen to all the dialogues with Shale (raise her approval)
3) Listen to all the new random party banters (Shale + other companion)
4) Complete Shale's sidequest (make sure Shale is in your party when you approach Caridin in the Deep Roads for some added dialogue)
5) Listen to all the new special dialogues (Shale's comments on certain events, mostly during quests)
6) Collect Crystals and give them to Shale and unlock her unique talents and learn how to use them.
This is not 1 hour worth of content! Get Shale ASAP (right after Lothering) and you can enjoy this DLC for over 50 hours!
I've completed this game six times so that's 6x50=300 hours. I'd gladly pay $15 for that!
Besides, you get The Stone Prisoner for free if you've bought Dragon Age Origins which is very generous of Bioware IMO. That's something we haven't seen before, Bethesda asked $4 for Horse Armor while BioWare gives us a $15 worth DLC for free. And you actually dare to say that Bioware is not generous? You should be glad they even take the time to work on DLC's.
DLC's are big moneymakers and using them to convince people to buy the original game is a bad idea.
