After beating Sophia up and siding with Avernus, he goes to close the veil. After the dialogue, he just walks a little and stops. Nothing else happens. What the HELL?! How does thou fix it?

Avernus starts moving towards the exit of the Tower but will not reach it. However, once the party exits onto the Bridge, Avernus will appear in front of them.. and stall once again. No matter, when the party enters the keep on the other side of the Bridge, Avernus will be with them.

If you have fireball, try casting it on Avernus or try anything that can get him off his feet. The point is to throw him to the area to which he is supposed to move to start the ritual. Or you can try reverting to a save prior to the final confrontation, the bug may not kick in.

Or you can use Shale with her Hurl Rock ability to knock Avernus into the right area.
Also try go windowed mode or changing the video resolution (both temporarily) and see what happens.

This works with me.

Go back to the bridge you came from and change resolution. Go back to the room and the dialogue will begin again and after that he will hopefully go to where he is supposed to go. You may have to change resolution several times but it will always do the job in the end in my case anyway.

After he succesfully walks to his position, you can change back to the resolution you normally use.

It's quite curious. Recently in another thread, one same sort of npc problem(the npc stuck at where he shouldn't be) got solved by changing the resolution.
